The property has been newly refurbished with high standards, we were greeted with a note in the room welcoming us personally. Small things like mineral water bottles in the room and nice coffee pods were a nice touch. The restaurant was amazing with great breakfast and dinner. Overall very satisfied with the stay and highly recommended.

We loved our stay.. duvet pillows and single air beds provided within the tent and an eco toilet near by which was very clean.. Hosts are fabulous and there to help with anything you need.. We could have chatted to David all evening :) the views are amazing.. Just what you need if you like a nice back to basics getaway we will be returning very soon!

Oswestry is lovely. The flowers are amazing n well deserve a place in Britain's Bloom. Just a lovely place, lovely atmosphere, decent shops, good bars. Easy to get to. Easy access to Chirk Castle and the Pontycyllys Viaduct.

We unwittingly arrived when there was a food festival on, but didn't have the time to stay and enjoy it as we were on our way back from a week's holiday in Wales. Although it seemed pretty quiet on the Friday evening, I feel there was more to do in the town and local area. We drove past Whittington Castle on our way, which looked interesting. Would definitely like to try the Crazy Golf in the the park next time. We went to the OSH café in the church grounds for breakfast and it was really good. Although from the speed that it filled up, I think booking is to be recommended.

There's not much actually IN Oswestry - especially if, like me, you prefer to seek out local independant pubs, restaurants, shops and other facilities, rather than chains, when travelling. But it does have the wonderful Bailey Head - current CAMPRA National Pub of the Year - and much of the surrounding countryside is lovely, with much more interesting things to do, places to go and stuff to see, than the town itself.

    1) Ambers - the best pizza in the whole region - do not miss! 2) Old School House - unique take on a veggie breakfast - you must try their home-made hash browns 3) Tams Thai streetfood cafe - anything from the menu is good 4) Wynnstay Hotel - very pleasant restaurant experience...and the bacon for breakfast cooked on the char grill is to die for 5) The Spoons serves great quality drinks at bargain prices 6) The charity shopping in Oswestry is second to none - my wife always comes away with a top brand dress / outfit at a bargain price 7) There are lots of other pubs / restaurants / shops that I haven't even tried yet!

Oswestry is a historic town and well worth a visit.

Oswestry is a historic town and well worth a visit. I chose this weekend as it was during the Wilfred Owen Festival. ( Wilfred Owen was born in Oswestry and St Oswald Church was the place where his parents were married and he was christened). I attended two short plays and a musical concert, which was outstanding. I would recommend this festival should it be run again. I like the historic buildings, independent book shop and multitude cafe and public houses of great age and character. It is a small town. St Oswald Church is particularly beautiful. Oswestry does not have a rail link which seems very strange. However, Gobowen has a station and a local bus runs to Oswestry. The people of the town were friendly and welcoming.

The town itself is small but nice.

The town itself is small but nice. It has a very well kept park and plenty of places to eat, although we chose to eat in the hotel. Unfortunately there is no train station so you need to get a cab from Gobowen. We took the bus to Shrewsbury which took around an hour which was very easy to do

Fantastic find, almost don’t want to tell anyone about it! Great location, close enough to town to make use of all Oswestry and the surrounding areas have to offer but just enough outside of the town to benefit from fabulous views of fields and the surrounding hills. Lovely and peaceful, with only sheep in the fields nearby for company - bliss. The property is really well equipped, tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, and good value for money. We will be back!

Simply perfect. A fabulous find & exceptional accommodation. We recently stayed here for a night & loved the picture perfect setting of this modern, exceptionally clean & well-equipped barn conversion. The location was fabulous, nestled in the countryside just outside Oswestry. Zoe & Philip were both fabulous, convivial hosts. We will certainly return to explore the area further & to enjoy another stunning sunset.
