Lovely, quiet country location. The building itself was very elegant and spotlessly clean. It was clear that the grounds and the walled garden were meticulously cared for. The breakfasts and dinners were superb and every staff member was friendly and attentive from the minute we entered to the moment we left. Our room was beautiful and well equipped with all the essentials and some extras! The proprietor made a point of chatting with all the guests.

    A lovely border town on the banks of the river Tweed.

    A lovely border town on the banks of the river Tweed. Lovely walks along the river. Beautiful buildings. Free parking in the car parks. Great for golf (Macdonald Cardrona), Mountain biking and Go Ape (Glentress).

    Peebles is a beautiful little town set on the River Tweed.

    Peebles is a beautiful little town set on the River Tweed. There are loads of walks and spectacular views. The birds we saw were amazing, crested gold finch and buzzards red starts and too many chiffon chaffs! There are good places to eat, particularly The Park hotel and Cocoa Blacks is great for hot chocolate.

    Check in was delayed from the 3pm stated. I waited for a room. Many others checked inline while I was waiting….dont understand that. As I had been there for 5hrs waiting Why was I not given a room and they wait

    I WOULD RECOMMEND THE ARGENTINA STEAK HOUSE , THE STEAK EXCELLENT, NEAR THE BP GARAGE JUST BEFORE THE ROUNDABOUT INTO THE MAIN STREET OF THE TOWN HAD A MEAL IN FRANCO'S ITALIAN WHICH WAS VERY GOOD, THE INDIAN RESTAURANT WAS VERY RUSHED, THIS IS THE SECOND TIME TO VISIT THE 1ST TIME WAS VERY GOOD

    Peebles is a lovely location.

    Peebles is a lovely location. We enjoyed it very much and had beautiful weather! We took daytrips from there that weren’t too faraway ie. Floors Castle, Traquair, and also to St Abbs. Peebles had many little shops that I didn’t have time to visit. We would highly recommend a visit to the area. Staying at Peebles Hydro was a treat!

    Peebles is a small, pretty town and great for a nightstop visit. The Green Tree hotel was in a centrally convenient location for walking into the town. There was sufficient free off-street parking available. Accompanying the kettle in the room was plenty of tea and coffee, for more than just the usual one cup each. At breakfast, the individually boxed cereals meant they were really fresh.

    Very disappointed with breakfast. Stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago and the breakfast was amazing. This time the food was only warm, well over cooked and some of it inedible. However plenty fresh fruit, yoghurt and pastries on offer. Location is beautiful and peaceful, and only 5 minutes in the car to Peebles city centre. Bedrooms very spacious and comfy beds.
