A good place to explore other areas, public transport is good and allowed us to get about to visit Douglas etc. Port Erin has some lovely community activities going on such as a live band on the beach and young musicians. Port Erin is clean and has a nice chilled vibe.

Port Erin is a lovely seaside town.

Port Erin is a lovely seaside town. The beach is great and there are lovely walks to go on with beautiful scenery. The shops in the town are good for buying gifts and there's a great book shop on the front. There's a nice cafe and ice cream parlour by the seafront. Also a good fish and chip restaurant in the town. The railway museum is interesting and the steam train to Douglas is a fantastic experience with wonderful views of the countryside. Only drawback is that there wasn't an italian restaurant.

Beautiful area, great beach- surrounded by lovely hills Whole place spotlessly clean and litter free Great public transport- tried steam train and bus! We arrived in Port Erin on a Sunday afternoon on a brilliantly sunny day. The town in pretty enough but we found it hard to find somewhere to eat that evening as most of the pubs and restaurants stopped their food service during the afternoon. After much googling, we found the http://breagleglen.com/ an indian restaurant at the local bowls club open and serving food. The food was pretty good.

The town of Port Erin is situated around a beautiful coastline, and the bay itself is stunning. The local people are very friendly and helpful. Transport to-and-from the town is excellent, there being regular buses to most parts of the island, and the train service is efficient and quaint. Shopping was not so good during our stay (late April 2024) as there was only a small Co-op supermarket, with limited stock, and an even smaller Spar with the same limited goods. However, Tesco were in the process of developing a large store in the centre of the town (not sure of opening date). Note, the pubs are good with nice meals served.

The staff were excellent and so helpful, the location has the potential to be excellent too, when the update is complete and the bar is returned to its original location at the front of the hotel. Food was very good, especially the Queenies, but menu had limited GF sweet course choices for dinner. Having a dedicated car park was excellent for our classic cars and Port Erin is a super base from which to explore the whole Island

The house is stunning, freshly painted with new carpets and everything could need for a relaxing break. The location is perfect facing Port Erin beach. We didn’t need to use the garage linked to the house, parked on the road outside.
