It's a really nice, slightly old-fashioned hotel. If you're looking for a modern chain hotel. This isn't it. But nice relaxing break, it was ideal.

From the very start just after booking the host’s communication was incredible, the best directions, photos and how to use things in the apartment, guides to the area, all so very helpful. The high end apartment and views were stunning, we will definitely be back.

Very nice location, with the sea in front of you. Good place for parking and a cozy cafe close by. In the morning you drive by the beach and see the surfers out in the water. It seemed newly renovated so the kitchen/livingroom, bathroom and bedroom was as new.

Although the main attraction has been the Fairground for years, there is plenty to see in Porthcawl. There are some lovely independent shops as well as the usual high street types. There is also a wonderful Museum that is situated in what was the Police Station, a must visit if you are a museum enthusiast. The beaches are a lovely place to take children where they can also explore rock pools. There are plenty of walks in the area, with a nature reserve and plenty of public houses to take a breather at along your walk. There is also Trecco Bay, a wonderful caravan park, if that is the type of holiday you want. They have a Pavilion with loads of entertainment. There are loads of places to eat as well, with the usual fish and chip places, and restaurants too. A great place to visit.

Small Seaside Town with an adjacent huge holiday park - literally a town of two halves - the old town is compact, bustling and has small side streets full of genuine shops as well as seaside vendors and restaurants - we didn't go into the Holiday Park area so I can't comment on that. The Seafront itself is NOT for swimming in - in fact its banned on safety grounds due to tide and rocks - - but looks wonderful as the tide grows over the rocks - there are sandy beaches either side of the town that are popular. Expect it to be nicer when the Promenade Esplanade Pavilion, currently under renovation, is finished. Surfing school to the north, by the Golf Course. And anywhere you can pay for a whole days parking on a municipal car park for less than £5 is going to be a winner

The facilities at Trecco Bay are expensive.

The facilities at Trecco Bay are expensive. Each activity carried a separate cost ie zip wire £14 per child per go. The pass for entertainment costs £26 per person & only covers swimming & entertainment. Entertainment starts around 9pm having small children with us we didn’t go there. Pass was a waste of money for our group. Lovely, long sandy beach & a supermarket not too far away

So a huge supermarket, you could walk to this, you get 1.5 hours here, then if you run out of time park across the road, best one is with Specsavers in view. Very reasonable fees, cash and card. walk through and you have two fruit shops, one bakers, a deli, post office, clothes shops, free clean public toilet, wet fish mongers, no butchers, but deli sells cooked meats, bakers best for bread and Welsh cakes, and other cakes. Mixture of shops , just wander up and down. On to shops near the lighthouse, walk to this and just look to sea. Good coffee and sandwich shops, look for the silver bullet, and get and ice cream, wait till you see it !! Then walk, just keep going.

Myself and my family had the perfect weekend here for my birthday, the host even upgraded us as the larger apartment was available this was a lovely gesture. The staff and the locals were fabulous! Everyone made us and the dogs feel so welcome! No it’s not a modern hotel BUT if your looking for a proper friendly hotel where the locals talk to you like friends would and your dogs are treated like the hotel pets then this is the place for you! The room was clean and had everything you need. Thank you Brentwood Hotel and the locals! We will be back!

Finally having stayed in various accom only places these past few months in Porthcawl, this one is what i would expect. Perfect in clean, tidy, well maintained and location, unlike so many other sub-standard basic guest houses, hotels and private houses. There's a welcome pack of, tea, coffee, sugar milk and a few biscuits. Other so called accom should take note, this is the standard.

Room was lovely and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good and served by very nice and polite waiters and waitresses. Nothing was too much trouble for them and I was particularly impressed with how much they helped those guests who were disabled. The hotel is conveniently situated for access to the various beaches and the town shops etc.
