Clean, close to the bridge so easy to pop over to Rochester town centre. Close to a supermarket if you need anything.. In general it was very close to anything we wanted, and the fact that it was oposite side of the river from Rochester centre, gave us the opportunity to cross the pretty Bridge a few times. The room was well looked after, tidy, bathroom clean. Towels and toiletries were provided. I would recommend this hotel if you are visiting the area. It is very close to Strood train station, and a walkable distance from Rochester station. It is also very close to the river bank and it is quite pretty when the moon is out at night.

Rochester is a wonderful location with many attractions.

Rochester is a wonderful location with many attractions. There's the castles with fabulous views of the cathedral, town, the Medway, Strood across the river, the road & rail bridges For those interested in history & architecture, Restoration House down Crow Lane with its extensive garden will delight, the Guild Hall museum covers much of the history of Rochester, there's an art gallery, independent shops including a 2nd hand bookshop, a good number of pubs to suit all ages, many restaurants & the Elizabethan Eastgate House (worth checking in advance to see if a wedding is being held). Slightly further afield is Chatham with its historic dockyard & more general shopping. The town has connections with Charles Dickens that you won't fail to notice!

very historical city. One has to appreciate the history of England, the role of King John and the Magna Carta relating to the siege of the castle, the history of charles Dickens and the museum of Dickens is a true gem. For lovers of history, this town is amazing! for those interested in a nice weekend out with good food, this town comes out tops!

I loved all the bars, cafes, restaurants, hair and beauty salons and charity shops. It's also a great place for young people, there's plenty lively bars, nightclub, etc. There's an amazing Cathedral and Castle there too. It's a real nice place to visit because it's full of history

Rochester is an easy friendly town.

Rochester is an easy friendly town. There are many places to eat and a great variety of foods. Many places for a quick coffee. The shops are full of different items and art works that you would not see in a main town. Plenty of places to visit, Cathedral, Castle, Fort, river walks and near to Chatham Maritime.

Beautifully restored boat, helpful hosts, great views, peaceful location; the self-catering unit was exceptionally clean, spacious, comfortable, well equipped and spacious which all contributed to a very lovely overnight stay. If you’re visiting Rochester, do consider staying here rather than a hotel. The Lightship is utterly unique. We were fortunate to be there during warm weather and it was lovely sitting on the deck watching the boats and the lights shining on the water, a truly memorable experience.
