We had a truly wonderful stay here. The loft room was so nice , and the whole house was spotless and very well maintained. It’s excellent value for money, with a delicious continental breakfast each morning. The location is perfect, with a beautiful sea view that made the mornings extra special. The host was incredibly warm and welcoming. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a clean, cozy, and well-located place to stay.

Surprisingly not an apocalyptic post-industrial wasteland... the football fans and the people generally are some of the friendliest I have met in my travels around the UK. Ended up walking back across the city to my hotel as the taxis were all busy, quite enjoyed it - even heard owls somewhere down by the river. Local takeaways very reasonably priced and generous with their portions!

I am trying to get some response from a human person at Booking.com.You sent me an email at 10.08 on 19th August with a message from the hotel that explained why they needed to cancel the reservation. But clearly nothing or nobody in the Booking.com system took any notice of it because I have received all the usual follow-ups about the reservation from you. This is very bad and I am expecting some response from a person before I take this matter further. My number is 07740404020. Is this the way you treat a long-standing 'genius' customer? I was in Sunderland for a conference so saw very little of Sunderland. It was a nice surprise to come across a concert for Pride on a break in the conference. I don't know how much there is to do in Sunderland so it might be better to combine it with a trip to Newcastle. Sunderland do have a decent football stadium, though. That's my usual reason for visiting.

The National Glass Centre is well worth a visit; so is is the museum in the city centre. Clearly a lot of money has been spent on trying to revive the city, and it has some beautiful 19th century buildings, but like everywhere it has suffered from the decline of city centre retailing, and nobody has yet come up with a clear idea what to do about it. Looking for somewhere to eat in Sunderland is a bit of a challenge: it's Greggs, Greggs, McDonalds and Greggs. But overall, it was better than expected.

My wife and I travelled up to Sunderland to see our daughter, who is working on the Lion King. We were met by Tony, he showed us around and explained the history of the building. The room is adequate, the location is excellent' not to far from city centre. We had a meal at the Italian restaurant which is part of the same building, which was very good, still very helpful. We would stay again. Thank you very much.

AA Sunderland defrauded me, the hotel doesn't exist, after booking a room with AA Sunderland, a day before my check in the hotel was asking for more additional £50. On the check in day, I called multiple times and no one answered, even when I emailed, I got no reply. Luckily for me, I used Paypal, after investigating the matter, Paypal refunded me in full. Please beware, AA Sunderland is fraud.

Having participated in the GNR, the hotel allowed guests who’d stayed the night before, to leave their car in the car park and return for a shower. This generosity was greatly appreciated and would be enough to make me stay again if I ever return to Sunderland.
