    Cheap basic accommodation for 5 min drive to airport. Advertised hotel opposite-this doesn’t serve food. Better hotel was Lamb and Lion two blocks away-lovely. Fish and chips -walk around the corner or Kebab van opposite.

    Takeley has nothing going for it at all apart from its...

    Takeley has nothing going for it at all apart from its closeness to the airport. A number of industrial units but no place to get a breakfast. The roads in and around are lined with cars that have been parked there by people who have gone on holiday but don't want to use the exorbitant and overcrowded parking at the airport.

    We arrived for 1 night stay , nobody there as we arrived Key was in key box and did not work , we went into the pub to ask for help to be told it was nothing to do with them but she would try to contact someone, a man came and finally opened our room and to say we were disappointed was an understatement , tiny , dark , dirty , soap dispensers were empty , bedding smelled We had to sleep with door unlocked in case we couldn't get out again ! Looked like door had been kicked previously.

    I was DISGUSTED to find out that my cousin, who drove 5...

    I was DISGUSTED to find out that my cousin, who drove 5 hours to drop us off at Takeley, was fined 100 pounds for "So Called Parking" at the hotel. He stayed long enough to stretch his legs and plan his trip back home. He was there a maximum of 5 to 10 minutes. This IS NOT how you treat guests who are dropped off. What was he supposed to do PARK IN THE STREET!!!! I Apart from things not working In our first room and we had to be changed, then we find out about this BS fine. There was no mention of parking fines on booking.com. I would NOT recommend this hotel and its money making scheme to anyone. You would NEVER be treated like this in Australia. We welcome tourists not fine their drivers. Extremely disappointed !!!! When someone goes out of their way to make sure we arrived safely and then are treated like this it makes me sick.

    Avoid if you value your health and safety.

    Avoid if you value your health and safety. This property is being mis sold. It doesn't even have fully functioning electric, no fridge, black mould, disgusting shower heads, filthy. Avoid had no electric to charge phone or for medical equipment. Place is a death trap. They have no idea about disability access, you can't even get in the rooms with a wheelchair never mind get into bed or use the shower and toilet

    The bell was not working waiting long for someone to come at the door , asked if was staying for i night or 2 nights then was just put in a room without a lock was so scared the whole night I kept my eyes open

    Great value for money for a hotel where you expect to sleep over just one night between the flights. Comparing the prices of hotels around Stansted airport, this was by far the best deal with a third of price vs hotels located inside airport. 5 minutes by bus from Stansted ( be aware of bus timetable. There is no bus option if you need to go to airport before 5:45 a.m. , however an Uber will be about 10-12£ and plenty of them around). Nice host. Checking in very late after 00:30 was not a problem.

    Lovely place to stay & handy for the airport. Much better than the chain hotels. Not a cooked breakfast but plenty of anything else you could want - even lots of gluten free cereals. Spotlessly clean & very comfortable. Plenty of parking. The owner was lovely, very friendly & made sure we had everything we needed.

    We stayed for couple of nights with my family who came to visit me from Czech, location and parking both great, easy to find and check in, breakfast ready -lovely fresh fruit and all sorts of goodies. Don’t expect fancy hotel, it’s a cute cozy house with character and we liked it.

    Excellent hotel, extremely quick check-in and very clean rooms. Very comfortable beds great for sleeping before your flight. Very very cheap as well , the reviews, which are complaining clearly expecting five star service for one star prices. Great hotel!
