Comfy bed, lovely decor, immaculately clean, sweet little courtyard for breakfast. Friendly, helpful hosts. Gorgeous little town! Had dinner and watched the football at The Beehive, a cute and cosy pub 5 mins walk from Swallow Barn. Highly recommended! Next time we visit from Australia, will definitely be back x

Super clean, all new, and fully equipped for two people to live there. Cooking utensils, plates, cleaning products. The bedroom was huge, with one of those beds you melt in. It also was in a great spot in town. It was perfect for our getaway from London.

Wonderful peaceful stay with a lovely twin bedded room with en-suite, and a guest lounge looking out over the hills. Breakfast was great and I especially appreciated Alex and ben making it early for me so that I could get to the early start at my National Archery Championship, where I came 3rd. Wonderful friendly hosts. Did not know beforehand that their location, Clifton, is claimed to be the last battlefield in England in 1745, as part of the retreating Jacobite rebellion, which conclude at the battle of Culloden in Scotland a four months later.

The cleanliness and equipment in the cottage were exceptional. The location is ideal, a short walk to shops, pubs & restaurants. Personal touches such as a complimentary bottle of wine, chocolate & toiletries made us feel so welcome. Communication from our hosts was excellent. Would definitely stay here again.

Temple Sowerby is great walking territory and very handy for Penrith where there were many tempting places to eat. Dining at The King's Arms however was a good decision and we especially enjoyed the breakfast.

A very old, unusual village with a maypole that was about 40 foot high. A pleasant area to walk around. It was very easy to travel to other ares. Acorn House a NT property was close by with interesting gardens. The Kings Arms served excellent food.

A very pleasant place to stay .

A very pleasant place to stay .Staff are friendly pleasant and helpful.Food was excellant. Only thing to let the village down was the great lack of a village shop, not only for the locals ,passing trade, and guests of both inns in the village. I think it could be a goldmine and would add considerably to enhance a stay in Temple Sowerby.

The location is in a quiet village on the edge of the lakes and if you want you can easily drive there as the main road in to the lakes is 5 minutes drive. But if you want to stop local there is footpaths in all directions and we would if stopped longer would have explored. The main plus for us was that in the future and more time it would be a great area to explore more and relax in if you want.
