It was a fantastic hotel and great location for exploring Hadrian's wall, Lindisfarne, Whitby etc. We loved the breakfast and dinner. It felt like Hercule Poirot could step out from the door. Staff very helpful, easy access by car, Sainburys and gas station just around the corner. We were lucky with good weather and the sunrise was beautiful.

We loved everything! Our room had few problems so the host gave us a free upgrade with a seaside view - which made us feel much better. Because the new room was with an amazing view, comfortable, with everything needed in every room. It was specifically for three people. And the view again to the seaside - still cannot forget. The host was a very kind gentleman.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with freshly baked scones and a generous bowl of fruit. The grandchildren consumed a significant portion of the fruit. Our host provided exceptional service and assistance. The property's location was ideal.

Our first visit toTynemouth and we were pleasantly surprised by what it had to offer. It has the feel of a small resort in that all the major attractions are within walking distance and it is not overwhelmed by tourists. It is also a very convenient base for taking the ferry across the Tyne to South Shields or the Metro into central Newcastle. It also gives very easy access for visiting the many ancient Roman sites in and around Hadrian's Wall. One particular highlight was eating at Riley's Fish Shack, scenically beautiful as it is located on a quiet beach below Tynemouth Priory. The fresh sea food served there was amazing.

Excellent place to stay. Beautiful clean beaches of which some are dog friendly. Plenty of lovely restaurants and bars nearly all dog friendly especially Allards and Lola Jeans retaurants in Tynemouth village. Lots of interesting historical places to visit. You can drive along the coastal road to visit St Martins lighthouse and Whitley Bay.

Tynemouth is a really nice area to visit. the beaches are lovely and there are many places to eat however I would suggest that you head slightly out of Tynemouth toward North Shields and turn down to the quayside, the fish dishes available there are really good.

Tynemouth is unspoiled by the usual arcades and food stands. Lovely places to eat and also a quiet stroll along the beach. 25 mins on the Metro to the city of Newcastle with the delights it brings. Recommended is Tynemouth Priory, a true gem. Not only the Priory itself with magnificent views but also the hidden from the road graveyard and fascinating WWII bunker and guns. Very quiet and peaceful please with stunning views. Free to enter with English Heritage Membership. Lots of historical statues and lovely places to eat and drink along the harbour.
