I arrived late but the staff went out of their way to accommodate me. Room was extremely comfortable, with a sea view over the Bay. Pre-arranged car parking was available. They have a nice breakfast included, and a pub atmosphere bar, Everything in one package, in a beautifully refurbished old building. True Yorkshire hospitality.

Whitby has all the usual English Seaside resort experiences - lots of good fish & chips, (including restaurants offering a gluten-free option) plenty ice-cream parlours and kiosks, arcades, a wide sandy beach etc - but it has the added benefit of the atmospheric Whitby Abbey & Museum, as well as the chance of discovering fossils amongst the rocks by the cliffs etc - a fascinating activity for our 8 year old grandson! We stayed for two nights/three days and felt this was ideal.

Great place to visit, ours was a 51st anniversary trip back after a Field trip from school in 1974, we re-enacted a few photos taken all those years ago, revisited the Abbey, the Lighthouse and quays as well as the pubs, fish restaurants and nearby Robin Hoods Bay. Good food - Tranches, Abbey Wharf, Cafe 54 - good beer - every pub we visited - and some great walks around the town and beyond.

We have visited Whitby a lot and always enjoy it , however this time it was far too busy , cars were queing for a parking space at 10.00 am and it was like that all weekend. Every restaurant / cafe had a long que waiting to be seated and the take aways were the same.

We returned to Whitby for the first time in 9 years but...

We returned to Whitby for the first time in 9 years but booked a long time ago and not factoring in Bank Holiday. The town was rammed which made it slightly uncomfortable for us but probably perfectly ok for younger people and families. A very dog friendly town! North Yorkshire Railway trip was fun although it’s getting expensive in my opinion. However as a voluntary organisation it’s understandable. Good selection of eateries in town and surrounding villages.

I liked that the hotel was situated on a cliff close to whitby beach, I liked that if you ring in advance you csn reserve a car park space with your name above it, I liked that our view was of the sea, the shower was amazing, the bed was comfortable, there were 3 points of interest on the doorstep, the view from the front of the hotel was stunning, the room was cleaned and everything was neat and tidy when we returned to our room on the second day of our stay

The apartment is beautifully appointed with the best location. It meant me and my friend could pop back for snacks and changes of clothes as the weather changed over the weekend (which it does in Whitby) Will try to stay again if it is available. The apartment also has a great view of the Abbey! The Master bedroom is like something out of a boutique hotel with a very comfortable bed and high quality bedding! Didnt want to get up in the morning!

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It looks like most of the hotel has undergone a renovation - rooms and communal areas have been completed to a high standard. The breakfast was cooked to order and was very nice. The hotel is in a great location for exploring Whitby. Parking passes were provided by the hotel and parking was easy to find on the streets close to the hotel - however we visited midweek so it was much quieter.

Fantastic location with sea views over the beach and the headland in the distance. The location was excellent and was in easy reach of the main part of Whitby which was just a few minutes walk away. There is a bar/restaurant around the corner where you can have a table overlooking the bay and Whitby Abbey. The arrangements for access to the apartment were very clear and and no problem with this.

This property offerred privacy and was better than most hotels or airbnbs that we have visited. It was decorated. It provided more than enough space due to having a living room and kitchenette and if I was going back to Whitby, I would not hesitate to return to the Loft.
