Stayed for 5 days. The house can accommodate 5 grownups comfortably. Everything we need was available in the house. Host is very helpful and friendly. A place was associated for our car for parking. We liked also the village. We had chance to see local life. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants and markets.

Superb location in the middle of the island, all the best sandy beaches are from 10min drive to 30 min. Modern apartment with everything one might need. Feels like home. The Host's are unbelievably nice, friendly and caring. We stayed for nearly two weeks and it was sad to leave, parking is on a private drive, everything is clean and looked after, the barbeque grill is amazing and again amazing, the views from the balcony of mountains are unbelievable especially when having dinner out on the balcony. The host had no problems with all our requests and even went as far as providing us with a beach umbrella. I could go on and on about their hospitality ,how they brought us eggs and fruits and cucumber from their farm and had a bottle of wine ready for us on day one. A perfect family holiday, my 3.5 year old had a great time, especially checking out the chickens, roosters and ducks 5 .⭐++++++

Quiet location not far from the road, friendly and always reachable owner, shop in the vicinity, not like staying in some resort/vacation factory, not long driving distance to sandy beach with clear water (Agios Gordios, Santa Barbara etc.) - It was visible on the map before It was booked so no surprise with distance to the beach.

the hotel is incredible. the staff is very kind. the location of the hotel is very convenient for many reasons because it is in the middle of the island and you can move anywhere on the island you want. very good facilities and it is a modern hotel. Staff was extremely polite and helpful, services were excellent. The hotel consists of a multitude of one floor bungalows in a wonderfully kept flower and olive garden. We had free water bottles in the room and at the beach, free sunbeds and umbrellas, plus beach towels. Towels in the room were changed even twice a day which surprised us and the room was very clean. Breakfast was delicious and there are plenty of choices, from a la carte menu or from the buffet. Excellent pool where you can really swim as it is 20-25 meters long.

    Very picturesque village with twisting little alleyways...

    Very picturesque village with twisting little alleyways leading up and down the mountainside. A good choice of tavernas selling traditional Greek food, also bars with some selling locally made wine. Sunday was a very busy day, all the locals were out and enjoying a coffee and a chat. Greece at its best

    AgiosMatthaios is very atmospheric and scruffy!

    AgiosMatthaios is very atmospheric and scruffy! People were friendly and easy-going. A walk through the top of the village gives great views over the mountains. Eating out could be better but every restaurant gives big platefuls of local corfiot food. Sitting outside the Cosmas cafe for a beer would tell you a lot about the villagers and their habits. We would definitely stay again purely for the Greek way of life.

    Agios Matthaios is a pretty village, with very warm-hearted locals. It is however, only reasonable to stay there if you have a car if you want to reach any local facilities at all. That includes reaching public transport, since the buses to the village are infrequent, only go to Corfu town, do not run in the evenings nor on Bank holidays or weekends. There are pleasant, hilly walks from the village with beautiful wild flowers, olive groves and sea views. The local (rather scruffy) beach is about an hour's walk away. There is a taverna and a kebab cafe in the village, both reasonably priced and with a varied menu and two small, well'stocked supermarkets to help with self-catering. There is also a delightful olive oil farm just down the road, with an invitation for a free look around and tasting afterwards - and a few things to buy, if you wish of course!
