Despite the amazing reviews we’ve read for this hotel, the number of services, the hospitality of the hosts, the location and the overall experience totally exceeded our high expectations! The breakfast was exceptional with a variety of homemade options. The hosts were for sure among the best hosts we have ever encountered, taking care of us and even gave us a goodbye present! It was quirky,clean and well equipped. Quite location had a good nights sleep.Close to the village shop/ cafe ,mini market the restaurant in the village served a small variety of greek food which was good, the free desert was delicious. The courtyard with outdoor seating was atmospheric on an evening.

    We were glad to have 5 days to sink into Kythera. You need a car to really experience this amazing island. There is only one restaurant and one cafe in Dhiakofti, but they are both enjoyable places to eat. No night life, no souvenir stores, no shopping. A quiet, family-friendly beach town.

    It's a very quiet, sleepy village.

    It's a very quiet, sleepy village. There is only one taverna, with so-so food, but with tables on the beach, so that can be nice. It's a great place for kids and families. But for good coffee, bars, restaurants, good beaches, you need to drive somewhere else, like Avlemonas. There is nothing in Diakofti.

    From October to March this little hamlet rather than village...

    From October to March this little hamlet rather than village shuts down; no bars or restaurants are open. The little shop or mini market is open randomly. If you are coming here in the off season, have a car so you can get to the next town or if you don’t bring water, milk, alcohol or food so you’re all set. During the summer I’m sure it’s a paradise; we just went on last regular ferry of the year. It’s quiet, beautiful at night and has gorgeous clear water. If you wanna go somewhere and just chill, I recommend.

    Dhiakofti is great if you want to have a great beach at...

    Dhiakofti is great if you want to have a great beach at walking distance but it's far from Chora or anything else you might want to see - except for Avlemonas which is my favourite place on the island. There are a couple of taverns there but we didn't sit there so can't really recommend them.

    Diakofri is the port of the island of Kythera.

    Diakofri is the port of the island of Kythera. It’s a place away from Chora, main town of Kythera. It is place for relaxation with limited options for food, bars etc. Nevertheless it is close to Avlemonas which is a very beautiful and more lively place.

    Diakofti is clean, sandy beach with warm turquoise blue water. Even if it's windy and the waves are high at other beaches, you can always swim at Diakofti. There is a cafe on the beach that serves excellent meals. One of the best tavernas in Kythira is also located there. We recommend it for dinner.

    Don't hesitate to stay at this family-run hotel. The warm welcome, the spotless room and public spaces, the delicious freshly prepared breakfast, the few minutes walk to the beach with crystal clear water and white sandy beach -- all just perfect. I absolutely enjoyed the peacefulness on offer. I liked that there was a small shop, an excellent taverna, and a couple of beach bars. If you're looking to relax for a few days or more, I highly recommend this hotel.

    A beautiful hotel with stunning views over Diakofti. The apartment was very clean and tidy and the owners are very friendly and accomodating. The location is very peaceful and quiet. Only a short walk from a beautiful beach, restaurant and cafe. Enjoyed watching the sunrise over the beach each morning. The pool in the hotel is very clean and a nice addition.
