the location is fantastic with the most spectacular view of the Meteori. The staff at the hotel were extremely courteous and helpful and the hotel was very clean and the gardens well kept. Breakfast was fantastic - with fresh home grown fruit, olives, home made preserves and yoghurt and local honey. And it’s a short walk into the charming village of Kastriki for your choice of terrific tavernas. we just loved our stay here and highly recommend to anyone wanting a comfortable stay in a pretty, traditional family run hotel.

    I really enjoyed all my stay.

    I really enjoyed all my stay. And I wish I planned more days than 2. There is absolutely amazing vibe here, accompanied by great mountain views. City is small, like 11 000 inhabitants, but very lively and you can find here everything necessary. Do not miss the chance to visit monasteries of Meteora, at least some of them. Or take a tour. The feeling of meeting the sunset high up there can not be compared to anything else. There's a plenty of nice restaurants and tavernas, I especially recommend Ambrosia and Meteora. And prepare yourself for the sizes of portions. :) City is easy to explore on feet, everything is concentrated in a walkable distance. People around are very friendly and open. I would definitely repeat my trip some day as the emotions are completely superb.

    A great place to visit, especially if you take an organized tour (with a guide and a minibus, so you don't struggle with parking) and car traffic on the mountain around the monasteries and other spots in the area. Also, a walk around the village is very much worthy

    We stayed in Kastraki which was closer to the Monastaries of Meteora than Kalabake. We ate at a wonderful small place in Kastraki. The food was simple but traditional and yummy. We also ate at Archontariki Restaurant in Kalabaka. The food was amazing! We went on a Bike tour of the Monasteries with Meteora e-Bikes https://meteoraebike.com. This was loads of fun and the guide, Vasilis and Jenny, were welcoming, knowledgeable and genuine. We loved the tour and their care of detail.

    Spectacular view of Meteora and monasteries looming over the town. The town is quaint and only a few blocks with delicious family owned Greek restaurants, coffee shops and gelato or bakery’s. The town is a great place to relax after touring the monasteries! The Meteoric family owned Greek restaurant located across from the center waterfall is exceptional! We enjoyed dinner outside and lunch the next day with great views and service. The pool at the Montessori Guesthouse was a welcome pleasure in the heat of the day!

    A great base for seeing Meteora..plenty of restaurants but steer clear of the main square - too much catering to tour buses..look further down the Main Street for real Greek cuisine and hospitality..Meteora Tip - sunset - great views. Monastery visit get there around 09;30 when they open.

    The monasteries and mountains are exceptionally beautiful...

    The monasteries and mountains are exceptionally beautiful and provide a unique once in a lifetime experience. There are lots of small family run restaurants with beautiful gardens and balconies which added to the rustic atmosphere. The prices are reasonable in most establishments, especially for the quality of fresh food and good local wine.

    Perfect location with view of monastery perched on Meteora. Prefer staying here to Kalambaka as the road up to the monasteries starts at Kastraki. Hotel was well located and only a few minutes away from local tavernas. Parking was available on site at no cost (convenient). Great information from reception on when to do what and generally very friendly and helpful staff. Room was very traditional but that's ok as it fits with the location, we liked it.

    Amazing view from the balcony and modern room. The bed was very comfortable and overall very spacious room. The family that owns the small hotel is really kind and helpful. The location is also great as it is just on the street going to Meteora and they have parking spaces. Totally recommended! We are very happy with our stay there.

    Excellent location for visiting Meteora. Large tourist hotel a few km outside the town which caters very well for bus tour type groups. We were well looked after as a couple and availed of the €20 buffet dinner too. Parking was available too. Room large and quiet. All staff were really friendly and helpful!

    Good quality for the price: a simple hotel with all the essentials, just don't expect anything too fancy. Location is excellent: easy access to footpaths to Meteora starting from Kalambaka and Kastraki. There is a desk and a fridge in the room, which I found very useful.
