This was our second time staying in the village. Very convenient for getting around not too far to walk to Fira. We don’t like crows so prefer to stay outside of the main tourist areas this is just far enough away from the capital. Karterados is not as touristy or expensive as Fira and Oia.
Karterados is not as touristy or expensive as Fira and Oia. It is nice to mix with the locals. However you can walk to Fira with a view of the Caldera in 10-20 mins. Karterados has the great advantage of having everything you need around without the noise of Fira, and yet just a 15-minute walk away from it. Strategic location for your stay in Santorini. Location makes a car almost necessary, because it is a long walk to Fira and the bus station. However once you get to Fira, and there is a regular bus, you can travel extensively by bus. George the owner checked everything was just right for us and for a very reasonable price they let us stay until 6pm in the room as we had a late flight.They also have a free shuttle to Fira which is a massive saving as every cab seems to be 45 euros in Santorini.
