This place was like a fairy tale. The location was amazing, great view. In a quiet area of the town, and still central.

Everything was perfect. Excellent hotel, design, room, space, hygiene, pool, food, stuff, location. The Suites is 15 min (walk) from the beautiful beach Ambelakia. The area of the hotel is out of the strict Monemvasia but it's around 6 km near.

We drove from Olympia through Sparta to Kinsterna Hotel. After driving through what might say a little bit run down villages it was unbelievable experience to arrive at this oasis. Everything was so beautiful, the food and staff impeccable! We stayed for 2 nights and took an took a hike in the island of Monemvasia, which is like another world. The only tiny thing which i thing I did not like was the English pop-music played in the restaurant. I would have preferred some Greek or instrumental music, but that is probable just me 😊

Location fabulous, on waterfront Esplanade facing the sea and “the rock”. A 3 minute waterfront level walk to bus terminal, from where there is a bus every 30 minutes to take you the 1.5klms to the entrance (€2.20 return ticket) of the Old Town and the Rock. The accommodation is in a 2 storey building, which had a lift. Our room was #4 with a balcony and spotlessly clean. There was current building works occurring across the street, but any noise could be shut out by closing the balcony door and leaving the air-conditioning on. Wi-Fi was good throughout the premises. We had a couple of swims in the refreshing sea. We only had to walk across the Esplanade to reach the water. The hostess was extremely helpful and nice. She spoke good English, was always available and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was included in the cost and was buffet option with much variety.

Monemvasia is a beautiful destination, where one feels instantly relaxed and at peace. Besides the slight difficulty in finding parking outside of the castle and the small "hike" that might entail for the more unlucky ones, the scenery inside is absolutely worth it. Overall a charming destination, with a lot of history, lot's to see, great for a quick getaway or a short vacation.

I'd recommend max two nights in Monemvasia.

I'd recommend max two nights in Monemvasia. The old town is beautiful and easy to access. No more tha half a day is needed to explore it however it has several very nice restaurants which you can go back to and enjoy for dinner. There are no organised beaches in the immediate area though you can swim off the rocks at the base of the rock or travel not to far to other towns to swim. It's a nice destination for a weekend.

We stayed two nights and enjoyed our time., Although, you could spend one night and see it all. After a lot of time spent on the road (prior to Monemvasia), the setting for relaxation and just taking it all in was perfect for us. the food offerings are great. views of the sea, mixed with the architecture were so inviting and a great experience.

You must walk up the Rock to the old church.

You must walk up the Rock to the old church. You should also make your stay at least 4 full days to allow time to get to know the locals who are fantastic people. My grandfather was born in Monemvasia and (to my knowledge) I'm the only family member to ever visit that Village from America.

This hotel has the potential to be outstanding but little things let it down. On the positive, it has a fantastic location, very comfortable bed and good breakfasts overseen by polite and attentive staff. On the negative, it is not well maintained. The hot tap in our bathroom was almost seized, the toilet seat was loose, circa, half of the windows and shutters within the room needed adjustment to open and close correctly - all these things should be easily reported daily by cleaning staff. Upon being shown to our room, we were told the tap water was salty and were provided with 2 x small bottles of water to make tea - but these were not replaced on day two. We were told that to have a shower we should turn on the water heater 25 minutes before required and then to turn it off again when we had finished. I do not expect to do this in a hotel. The foregoing are issues that can so easily be resolved and would create a great experience but when they are not, sadly leave you with the feeling that you are not valued.

This was the most relaxing part of our trip.

This was the most relaxing part of our trip. Hiking up to the church was fairly easy. Hoyema & Aptyma was the restaurant we had dinner at by the shore. It was so good, we went back again the next evening.
