A really nice place to stay , just 20 minutes drive from Elafonisi beach. The hostesses were very welcoming and kind! Also the breakfast was delicious with traditional dishes from Crete ❤️ Definitely recommend it! Ευχαριστούμε πολύ!

Our stay at Kanadia Paradise was amazing. If you want to spend time in the mountains, away from people, with breathtaking mountain views and even more beautiful sunsets, I highly recommend it. Everything was perfect. The owners are very kind, they put their heart into this place, and I wish them all the best with their growing business. The entire hotel is new. Everything was spotless. Flawless. If I ever return to Crete, I will definitely stay here again, because it was truly something special. I will gladly cherish the memories of the time spent here for a long time. The breakfast was excellent as well. We also had dinner at the restaurant connected to the accommodation, and we can only recommend it, everything was delicious.

As you look across each side of the valley you can identify ancient agricultural terraces. Some extend beyond the vegetation level. There is a high likelihood that these are evidence of Minoan viticulture and they would have grown a broad variety of grapes on these slopes. The farmhouse dates to circa 1820 and there are olives close by of a similar age. This is a period of our civilisation when wool and cloth became in demand. A truly spectacular place to experience. The accommodation has a stone interior.

We had wonderful vacation at Velanos Vilas. The location is perfect, waking up every morning to the magnificent mountains .and fresh air. a very short ride from the lovely beaches Jenny, our host was very helpful and sweet and welcomed us with a fresh cake and local wine. I wish we could have stayed longer, and cant wait for our next visit in Crete. I'm sure well come again hopefully in the spring to enjoy the blooming in the mountains of west Crete. Many thanks Jenny for your warm hospitality and valuable recommendations

it's a very delightful place to stay, excellent views of the valley and across to the sea, the breakfast was amazing very filling, the pool was just right roomy enough and great temperature, it's a stunning place to stay.

    An absolutely magical secret of a place.

    An absolutely magical secret of a place. I stayed here for two weeks alone while working on a writing project and it was perfect, although the house is definitely big enough for a couple and would be very sweet for a family of four. The house is surrounded by a lovely quiet road to walk on full of olive trees and a very ancient church. It is in a very small village that is pretty centrally located between both the north and south as well as west coast of Crete. The lovely little seaside town of Paleochora is just a half hour away and many beaches are within a half hour to an hour. Although Strovles is not a village with much more than a few part-time homes and one coffee shop, it is an incredible place for a peaceful retreat and is well-situated to explore if you’re okay with driving. The hospitality of Eva and Jon was also unmatched. They provided a truly authentic and welcoming experience, sharing many fresh foods from their garden, teaching me traditional recipes and helping me understand the Cretan country life. They are incredibly kind, helpful, and engaged though unobtrusive hosts and it was a huge pleasure getting to know them. I hope to come back!
