I like everything, the owner is friendly, helpful if needed. It's worth the price you pay, even though the room equipment is basic, but it's worth the price you pay clean and tidy rooms, not far from the city center and tourist areas.

Pariban Hotel is a new modern hotel located near the Hotsprings of Semangat Gunung. It's a good location for those planning on a hike up to Mount Sibayak or a resting place for the weary traveller with its Hotsprings sprawled in this tiny village. As of my last visit, there is still a lot of renovation and infrastructure happening with new villas and roadworks on the way. Despite that, Pariban Hotel has good service staff, spacious rooms with very tall ceilings and essential facilities that makes this stay a comfortable one.

this is a fantastic Homestay. the room is so comfortable. nice hot shower, comfortable bed, big fluffy pillows and soft new linen. The host family are incredible people. They make this place so special. They are so kind and helpful. They organised my sunrise volcano hike, a tour of the ghost town, and my (very) early morning car to the airport. They are excited to share everything they know about Berastagi, and their hospitality is 5 star. Also - they made me a vegan banana pancake and it was amazing!

The family is very welcoming and available. Mery is very well organised and efficient, gives you lots of information and helps you organise all your activities (which really makes your life easier when travelling!). We also had her pizza there, which was nice and very convenient. We really enjoyed the volcano tour with Abdi. The accommodation is very clean and comfortable.and the atmosphere around the house is very nice.

    The volcano hike was amazing and so beautiful, but there wasn’t much else to do after that. If in a straight couple or a mixed gender group it might be more pleasant to wander around and explore the the town, but as a solo woman or two women it was quite uncomfortable in terms of the amount of attention and harassment we received. If I went again I would just arrive in the afternoon, do the hike in the AM, and then head off again after that.

    NICE TOWN, VERY NARROW ROAD, NOT ADVISEABLE TO DRIVE ON YOUR OWN, FOOD IS GOOD, WEATHER VERY NICE COOL. THE DOWN SIDE IS TO GET HERE FROM THE AIRPORT OR MEDAN. THE VERY NARROW WINDING AND THE LOCAL DRIVER IS SCARY, TRAFFIC JAM IS EVERYWHERE

    To climb the vulcano in daytime no need for a guide. For the sunset if the sky is clear no guide needed. But if it is cloudy and night - get a guide. Extremly loud city due to the crazy motobikers.

    This is just a great place. Very good rooms, very clean and excellent beds. The owner is such a great friendly man. He helps you with whatever you need. We booked our volcano trip with him and also our transport to Medan. Breakfast is included and just very good and also the restaurant had good food at great prices. If we would come to Berastagi again we would certainly come back here again.

    We met the wonderful Deni and Robby here. They showed us around Sumatra. We had a great and fun time with them touring around. Two wonderful guys we won't ever forget. Back to the hotel. Rooms are adequate, pizza is nice and the personnel is lovely. Anything can be arranged (transport, tour, etc). There is a good view of Sibayak and Sinabung on clear days.

    Very pleasant owners Trisno and his wife. Very helpful, the food was delicious and the portions were large. Direct view of the Sinabung volcano. The trip with Trisno to the Sibayak volcano was unforgettable. He helped me climb Mount Sibayak, even though I have joint problems. Thanks again Trisno.
