Comfortable clean holiday home, shower and bed were perfect for us, we didn’t try any of the cooking facilities as we dined out in Skerries which is a short drive away, however there didn’t appear to be any washing up liquid or dishcloths etc so you may have to bring your own compared to other properties where we have stayed. Lovely beach/bay not far away.

The area of the hotel was not kept up, a good deal of construction occurring in the immediate neighborhood, May be quite nice once the construction is done, but that appears to be at least a year off.

We are from Canada and flew into Dublin.

We are from Canada and flew into Dublin. Balbriggan was easily reachable by local bus. We didn't know anything about Balbriggan before we chose it - we were looking for a place by the sea close to Dublin. So glad we found Balbriggan! The Bracken Hotel location provided easy access to shops in the town and a walk along the beach and a park above. We enjoyed discovering a "pocket park" created by children and their teachers which was dedicated to pollinators. We noticed another park off the main street as we were leaving by bus, but were unable to visit. These park, the Hotel staff and the little shops gave us a good impression of the community.

Pleasant small town on the brink of becoming a culture place to visit in March 2025, worth a visit for the fantastic beach, a few cafe/tea shops. A new pub opened about 10 weeks done up very tastefully in old memorabilia worth a visit. Housing is in good supply and developing all the time. Other spots worth a visit: Icecream shop at the harbour. LaLa restaurant of the delicious food & lovely gardens. Pleasant walks.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very tasty and the restaurant was comfortable. We enjoyed a good nights rest in a comfortable, clean and fairly spacious room. The hotel is close to the train station and allows for easy access to Dublin. There is also an underground car park at the hotel. It was very good value for money. I would stay again if I wished to spend a few days in and around Dublin or Co. Meath.

Balbriggan is an ongoing developing town that will progress to becoming a place to visit for art, music, and culture. There are a few quirky cafes on or close to the main street. This is a town awaiting development. We ate in the Lala restaurant, an exceptional meal with delicious food. It provided a simplistic choice of 5 starters, and 5 mains to suit all palates. Both the braised lamb and the Seabass were complimented perfectly with tasty sauces allowing the discerning wine drinker to choose either red or white wine. The wine list was short and provided an excellent choice to match the food available. Although the overall experience was excellent, there may be scope to add a cheese board for those diners who do not eat dessert or prefer a savory finish to their meal.

Balbriggan is a little tired, obviously seen better days - but it's having some money spent on the harbour and beach areas, so I think it has a bright future. The beach was fantastic. Hotel was very pleasant, comfy and clean. Breakfast was great, but options for evening dining not so much. However, there are other places to eat in town, not too far away. Parking was free and no hassle, just below the hotel.

It was easy to reach in Balbriggan, we got fresh towels. The receptionist and the girl in the La-La Cafe was kind :) The rooms were named after musicians, it's a good idea.
