The Guest House was exactly as expected: clean, tidy and cozy. Fiachra, the owner, is a wonderful and caring person. I forgot my watch in the guest house and Fiachra sent it back to me in Italy in no time. Just great people doing a great job.

    Loved Ballinasloe. Perfect little town.

Loved Ballinasloe. Perfect little town. My Mother's family lived nearby years ago and descendants still in area. For us perfect and lucky with the weather too. Gullanes hotel the very best to get the most of hospitality in the area and hear those amazing local people in town. It is also central.Would recommend to anyone looking for traditional Irish hospitality and welcome.

Ballinasloe in itself is a small town, it took us an afternoon to walk around, visit the different shops, the marina and the three churches. It's very pleasant and the locals are friendly. On the Friday we left there was a indoor market by the cinema selling handmade items from buns to marmalade to baby gifts. Ballinasloe is 30 mins from Athlone and 45 mins from Galway by train, handy spot!

Hotel Was very central to the town and shops. Not a lot do at night. We spent most of the next day in Galway Salthill and Barna, as the evening event I was meant to attend on the Sunday was cancelled. Restaurant in the hotel was very good and very accommodating too.

I will not be staying in the hotel again. I stayed there to attend an event which I very much enjoyed however, there was no water in the hotel for the whole night because of the storm. Staff were very rude at reception when I asked was there any deduction on the room. Staff were also quiet unprofessional and told me they didn't know whether they would be serving food either. I paid 240 euro for one night stay for which was suppose to be four Star hotel and basic needs were not even met!!!

just an overnight stay, so a big comfy bed, breakfast was fine - we hadn't warned the host ahead of time we needed vegan options. The hotel is quite remote and we struggled to find anywhere to eat locally.

Beautiful place, service, food and rooms. Despite being a little outside Ballinasloe - a 2€ fare each way into town was definitely worth the scenic setting on the river. Very helpful staff in every way.
