I visited this cottage in April with my family from Greece. Our accommodation was amazing. Cathy prepared a wonderful breakfast for us, and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the sunset in this unbelievable garden. Thank you, Cathy, for everything you have done for us. Hope to see you soon! We wish you to remain as happy and open-hearted person as you are! Bunclody is a lovely village and this house was wonderful. Great host, communication was excellent and very prompt. Four beautiful bedrooms, great for us having one bedroom downstairs. Plenty of room for 6 adults, everything you could need in the kitchen although we didn't use it much as we mostly ate out. Host left tea, coffee, milk, butter and bread which we appreciated. Heating was great, warmed up really quickly making it super cosy. We had a beautiful breakfast at Sugar & Spice, I'd pre ordered a birthday cake which they brought out with a candle and sang once we'd finished eating. We also ate at Rivers Edge which was nice, had takeaway from Mick the Chipper and enjoyed the Jack Rabbit next door to the house which was very warm and cosy with a lovely owner, lots of family games scattered around such as Connect4, Snakes and Ladders, Draughts and Chess. House was a great base for us to explore nearby towns and I would highly recommend staying here.

I loved how clean it was! It was all we needed for a cozy stay. We received the instructions prior to the arrival which were very clear on how to get the jacuzzi going. The water in jacuzzi was fresh as well! We also got the local chipper deliver to us while we were relaxing in the jacuzzi. Also it’s only a 15min walk to the local pub. Amazing stay, definitely recommend for anyone who is looking for a nice city break and a private jacuzzi with amazing river Derry views.

    The cleanliness is superb.

The cleanliness is superb. The only downside is we dont have a private toilet/ shower room. Maybe if you travel with group this is okay because you dont mind sharing with your group. We have kids so its kinda difficult when we dont have our private toilet. It was my fault because i didnt read that the toilet facilities are shared

I was looking for peace and quiet and found it.

I was looking for peace and quiet and found it. Long walks into the countryside and except for the occasional peaks in Rosslare traffic, the town is quiet and extremely friendly. Eating was a bit of a challenge as I was not driving so confined to the town itself and many options are only open Thu-Sun (this was in November, it may be better during the summer months). Sugar & Spice do a great breakfast, and Redmonds pub is great.

Lovely village with very friendly locals and very good restaurants. Sunday lunch at local pub was excellent and would have returned Monday but they were closed. Easy to get to various places for shopping and sightseeing albeit I was in the area for work...

It was only an overnight stay. Saturday to Sunday So late arrival on Saturday meant most place had closed. The Riverside Bar and Grill just a stone's throw from the Cody Lodge. with its excellent rooms was open. The Riverside Bar and Grill has excellent food and a menu to suit all tastes. You will feel at home here because it is how the staff and owners will make you feel. Serving some excellent what I call real man food. Recommend the roast beef. Don't worry Michelle will look after you. Michael that be Michael Kehoe the captain of this fine ship. Is a pure gentleman and as down to earth as they come. He will go out of his way to make your stay memorable. Then on top of all that there is live music several nights a week. You just cannot go wrong it has everything you could possibly want. I had to depart Bunclody early on Sunday morning. But if the service and welcome received in The Riverside Bar and Grill is anything to go by. You will be in for a pleasant surprise in what could be one of Irelands best kept secret's.

Bunclody town has a beautiful setting with a stream running through the middle of it surrounded with trees & some seating while one way traffic goes down one side & up the other side of the stream. It is situated at the foot of Mount Leinster which has lovely walks & a scenic view from the top. Great Golf course with beautiful restaurant upstairs in the clubhouse. Pub with very friendly atmosphere & lovely food across from Bunclody Lodge.

Inland rural busy village, lots of life and activity on main street. Shops and facilities walking distance. Friendly locals, River Slany never too far away. Maybe not a tourism heavy hitter, but all the better for that. Beautiful countryside nearby in every direction.

The Hotel was amazing and the Staff were extremely nice, helpful and Polite. We met Tom the owner who is a gentleman. This is a New build hotel which has been designed to the highest standard. It has Luxury and tranquillity in abundance. We were traveling from Mayo to the Fleadh in Wexford and stopped off on Bunclody - We found a hidden Gem in the Hazel Tree Lodge
