Was visiting the Aran Island & stayed two nights in Spiddal. It's a lovely village & very friendly & very good location to ferry port. Two pubs, one very good restaurant, Blath Fiain, a garage, convenience store. ALL very good. For us two nights was sufficient.Guest review byJohnIreland - 10.0

Staff were super friendly and accomodating. Beds were comfy and the curtains blocked out the light really well. The parking was abundant, free and literally in front of the property. The soft duvets and mattresses caressed us caringly as we slept through the night unaware of what awaited us in the morning. I went for a dip in the sea, which was freezing, and returned to the hotel expecting a sneaky little breakfast. I was wrong, the breakfast slapped so hard it made me start speaking Gaelic. The succulent scrambled eggs were perfect, as were the tantalisingly tasty grilled tomatoes, caramelised to perfection. The coffee was not remarkable, but the breakfast was gobsmackingly good. By the time the breakfast was done with me, I could barely utter a word in English and it took me all day to get back to normal. If you needed a quiet spot or company it was all here, the scenery is enough to make you think you could be a poet, artist, adventurer, the locals were welcoming you to share their surroundings, the boats at the pier and lobster pots back from their early morning sailing.
