Location is excellent, away from hustle and bustle of the town. But they have just started. Two brothers own the property and manage it. Cook is okay for daily need, but couldn't even make chilli fish properly. Breakfast is very basic and everything turns cold by the time it's served on the table. There is no tea/ coffee making facility in the room and dining room is not nearby. It's in another building. Staff is few in number and not properly trained. Now a days lots of hospitality trained boys/ girls can be easily recruited. Reception is empty most of the time. Bathroom needs to be cleaned with professional cleaner. We had lots of mosquitoes in our room on day one and Goodnight bottle was empty. We requested for a refill which was done next day. WiFi is nonexistent. We liked Bishnupur very much. Our local guide Mr Asit Das was kind and had his own motor bike. He is a professional guide registered with Government tourism department and is a knowledgeable guy. His charge is reasonable. We went to terracotta fair and bought some lovely pieces. Local artisans are great, making fantastic art in miniature form. We also bought some silk items. We will return but may choose a different hotel.

It is a place with great historical importance.

It is a place with great historical importance. Bishnipur is know as Temple town and has many great monuments. The town is also know for world famous Baluchari saree. One can also visit Joyrambati and Kanarpukur, the birth places of Ramkrishna and Ma Sarada, who inspired Swami Vivekananda and the guiding forces behind the Ramkrishna math. If you are interested in Bengali history and culture, you must visit Bishnupur.

The 16th history of Bishnupur - Malla Dynasty was not known to me. Temples have beautiful architecture! The Mela was also nice, for a Probashi it is good to be exposed to the rich Bengali culture! The Mela is very crowded though and can be uncouth.
