The bright lights, the sounds smells of Siliguri left behind when we entered the oldest tea estate - Chumpta. We felt transported. The quiet, warm glow of Mayfair was just what we needed. Polished marble floors, the fragrance of dhoop in the lobby. We were soaking it all in whilst Pradeep handled a bigger family. The antique clocks, quirky weighing machine/ balance.Checkered floors, statues adorning the corridor, beautifully upholstered furniture, a wall to wall fabric coated elevator.PS: May be they forgot to do the welcome experience.Our Stay: We had booked for the attic rooms. The room had twin beds(probably they may have run out of double beds) and the most interesting part was the bathroom had a fan. A lot of thought had been put into designing this room with the right amenities including a chair to sit whilst the rain shower did it’s job. Housekeeping had done a thorough clean to ensure that we had a great stay. Housekeeping as always very discreet service, however we knew they were there constantly cleaning finger or foot prints.Tea Pot: Most enthusiastic team of Sahil, Suraj, Laxman and our server for the evening Sathya ( the gentleman from Orissa) were fabulous. The food was another level tasty and almost like home. The chefs are extremely skilled and talented to be so thoughtful despite of being used to quantity cooking.A box office: I found this extremely delightful. Thought we did not use this. A small 14-20 seater theatre armed with lazy boys and a small screen to keep the couch potatoes entertained. Hridaya the security on rounds insisted I watch the other half of the movie, I was tempted however it would have kept me away from the new happening bar that they had just opened by the pool side.Dont miss the Vintage Car in the Bar. Chef was right. There was miles of food till the eye could see. Each tastier than the other. Mani our driver who dropped us to the airport knew all the in roads which got us to the airport in less than half an hour.

    I stayed overnight in Siliguri to avoid the risk of travelling from Gangtok the next day at 4 am, and possibly missing the flight, even though Wizzride assured me that their vehicles would reach Bagdogra airport in 4.5 hours from Gangtok.

    Dusty and with Traffic jam. The city centre mall was good. And an eatery in Mallaguri was excellent. Trips to Mirik and Bengal Safari were nice. Rest was disappointing. Don't recommend anyone for this hotel It is not worth paying 4000/- per night for this below average hotel. Had I known the location I would have never stay there.As I mentioned except the reception people who were helpful ,nothing else was good . Why do you recommend such bad hotels to people who needcommfprt & peace?

    location wise siliguri is placed best ,because from both new jal paiguri and bagdogra airport its near.so it acts as a connecting link of north eastern staes with other states.so when you plan of north east trip you can halt at siliguri to catch your flight or train.

    It's footstep town of Sikkim and Darjeeling as well gateway for North East India. Small town with all kind of modern facilities. City have very less tourist spot but market, people and foods are very good.

    I loved everything about my stay but I left my one piece of bag with small eating things & a cap which I had bought from watching AUSTRALIAN OPEN in Melbourne, white one with AO 2024 written …. I sent my brother to pick the bag but the CAP is MISSING.. this is too BAD… please HELP

    Location was good on a street that was not so busy but still near Hill Cart Road for easy access to other areas of Siliguri. Hotel arranged transport to the airport for me which was great. Staff were very friendly, and and always willing to help. The room had both a ceiling fan (to keep away mosquitos) and AC unit that worked well to keep the room cool. Bed is comfortable and generally the room was fairly clean!
