A big thumbs up for the very helpful staff of Hotel Laxa. When we were about to check out, we clumsily drove our car into a pile of snow accumulated in the hotel car park overnight and got stuck there. A few hotel guests around lent us a hand but still could not pull our car out. Fionn at the Front Desk came to assistance immediately upon our request. It was certainly some strenuous work he did to free our car from the thick snow. And he's our hero. Thanks also to another lady at the Front Desk who was very helpful. It's a pity that we did not know her name. All in all, it was a great stay at Hotel Laxá. It's clean, cosy and at a good location in the Myvatn area.

We stayed in the hotel 2 nights and we liked it a lot. The hotel is situated next to the beautiful lake Myvatn. There’s a free parking area next to the hotel. The rooms were clean and tidy. The food was always freshly prepared. We spent the evenings playing darts 🎯 and drinking their craft beer 🍻 I would like to thank the staff of the hotel. Everyone was friendly and helpful with smiley faces. We didn’t use the sauna and hot tubs but they looked nice. A nice compliment was free coffee and tea any time you wanted in the lobby. I recommend this hotel everyone who seeks for comfort and hospitality.

Very lovely place to stay at! Everything was spotless (so the shared bathroom wasn‘t a problem at all). The kitchen was well equipped and really big so multiple people could cook at the same time. Unfortunately we only stayed one night, we would have definitely stayed longer if we could. Their ice cream is delicious too!

Fosshotel Mývatn is located next to Lake Mývatn, 6.8 km to the Mývatn Nature Baths. The hotels provides free WiFi and free private parking.

The hotel is really great, comfortable and new. Super clean and the sofa bed was great. We eat at the restaurant and it was one of our best meals in Iceland.

The room was large and clean. The bed was comfy. The food was delicius and tasty. The bath was big enough for an adult male. And the staff...they got a 10+. Great service in the restaurant. And the view from the restaurant is amazing.
