Local Sita bus available and frequent - central to visit Piano de Sorrento, north to naples and down south to Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi Coast. Meta was a great location if looking for an affordable base to explore the coast. We were able to catch the bus into Sorrento daily (it can be a bit of a wait and not always on schedule), and also connect to Amalfi and Positano via the SITA buses.Guest review byDreaTrinidad and Tobago - 8.0
Meta is lovely.
Meta is lovely. I would use it more as a base though and tour around. Like Pompeii or Rome which was a short trip. It’s pretty quiet, not much around for a grocery store but the people were some of the loveliest we met throughout our tour through Italy. Bus is decent, hard to get a taxi. Train service excellent. You must try Le Conca restaurant in Meta - we went every day, is what THAT good! https://www.ristorantelaconca.net/ Wifi was spotty throughout, but we were having severe rainstorm while here which impacted where we could go. We only had a couple of days and we arrived in the middle of heavy rain quite late. We spent the following staying close to the beach and had lunch at TicoTico (suggested by our host) which was excellent! Basically, the beaches were crowded, plus there were nothing to see during snorkeling. So we usually travelled to other places. Unfortunately the public bus transport is pretty bad. No timetable, what google map finds is either out of date or simply not as it expected. We had never known if a scheduled 1-2 bus is coming or not. Close to transport links offering connection to train station and Sorrento. Our apartment was very spacious, offering privacy and everything you need for short or longer stay. We are extremely happy of our choice and will cherish memories of Meta and Sorrento for many years to come. Rooms are comfortable and mine was very spacious. Staff are friendly and helpful. It takes 8-10 mins to walk to the train and the bus stops very close to the hotel so it’s easy to go to Sorrento and other towns.
