It's more of a romantic adult getaway spot. Restaurants are small and most seating is on the patio. Monterosso was a very good place to anchor at Cinque Tera. One more day would be more relaxing. This was a second time for us to visit the area. it's definitely more people than 10 years ago. The hiking was still fantastic. dinner at Taverna Galin, a very good restaurant. and we found a great bakery: Pasticceria Bar Laura, for breakfast and their sweet bread like donut without the hole, was our favorite. we went back the next morning. Cinque Terre: The entrance fees for hiking now could be costly. Getting tickets for the Lovers' Path hike at the entrance on line was not easy. After trying it 20+ minutes next to the gate, we had to go back down to the tourist office to buy the tickets. Wish they had an easier system available next to the entrance. There were two other groups went back down to get tickets as well. the public transportation, train, ferry and bus were great. A great resort - we stayed in La Spaggia, a hotel on the promenade c/w balcony overlooking the beach with the backdrop of the mountains. The train station is a walk away so easy access to the rest of the Cinque Terre villages, a maximum of a 6 minute ride away to each. There are plenty of bars and ., shops etc. We had a sunset boat ride along the coast which is a must with a company called Sea Breeze which was informative and fun - the staff lovely.
