The location is incredible. The town itself is very quaint and has some excellent restaurants and there are amazing views all around. I was there with a group of 4 and we took over both apartments, upstairs and downstairs, which was really fun, it felt like we could really move in. This is an incredibly quiet and sleepy town, so no concerns about noise at night. I would recommend this location for people who would like to visit Montepulciano / Siena and the surrounding area, but don't want to stay in a heavily touristic town, but also want to be in a spot where they can walk to dinner (Ristorante Daria was excellent, for example, and just down the road). For those who like it quiet and peaceful, this is a really great location for this area.

We had an amazing afternoon, night and morning and this beautiful house. The owners welcomed us into their cellar where we spent time sharing their home-made wine, local charcuterie, bread and olive oil. In the evening we enjoyed a small dinner in the garden, watching the sunsets and then the stars. The night was incredibly quiet and I slept like a baby. In the morning, I rushed to open my window to enjoy the view while waking up.

Extremely good location. I love the traditional style of the accomodation. Also I wouldn't have known about Monticchiello if it wasn't for this accomodation. Very very peaceful place and would love to come back and stay for more days just to chill.

The location was incredible; an excellent place to recharge. My two children had so much fun they didn’t want to leave. The hosts provided excellent recommendations and pulled from an excellent local network to make our stay special. A great hotel! Despite minor shortcomings, it can't be given less than 10 points. A very kind owner waited for me and checked me in, explained where it was most convenient to park. The breakfast from the restaurant a la carte deserves special admiration, as well as a small buffet with drinks. I asked for a glass of prosecco and they brought it to me for free. The view from the window is excellent on the cathedral square. I have already sent a link to this hotel to all my friends.

    Monticchiello is a great hill top village to stay overnight...

    Monticchiello is a great hill top village to stay overnight when travelling through Tuscany. Beautifully quiet in the evening but with a number of restaurants to choose from to suit all tastes. We ate at Osteria Fra Paolino which was exceptional and proved to be the best meal of the 2 weeks we spent travelling from Rome through Tuscany to Florence.

    It's a small citadel village in Tuscany with a lot of...

    It's a small citadel village in Tuscany with a lot of character. It's best to brush up on Italian language skills before going as you can't fully get away with just English. It has a great circular walk around the fortress walls that leads into the inner part where houses and restaurants come with great stories and are inhabited by great people. The evenings are lively with tasteful music playing in the background and many patrons enjoy a good drink and some well executed food.

    Had a great cooking class at Restaurante Daria. Not only learned how to make local favorites but got to eat them along with some great wines as accompaniment. And also took home a recipe book which included what we prepared.

    Francesco is a lovely host at la casa di Adelina.

    Francesco is a lovely host at la casa di Adelina. He immediately made us feel right at home as he showed us around the shared spaces and our private space. He also shared the fascinating history of his family and the "casa." He is a wonderful baker and prepared beautiful, delicious breakfasts each morning. He answered every question we had about the town, allowing us to explore with confidence. He made excellent recommendations. I would HIGHLY recommend a visit to charming and friendly Monticchiello and to la casa di Adelina. We hope to retun.

    Monticchiello is a lovely small town in the heart of Val d'Orcia. We stayed here several days and traveled by car to other places in Toscana. There are a few good restaurants in the town and the most breathtaking view on Toscana hills.

    A beautiful mountain top Tuscan hamlet.

    A beautiful mountain top Tuscan hamlet. We walked around the walls and tiny streets. We ate at Dario’s where we had a delicious lunch of suckling pig. We attended a wedding at the church which was an amazing experience.

    Fantastic view out over the countryside. Brilliant shower and comfy bed. Quiet & relaxing. Lots of places to visit nearby… Pienza, Montepulciano etc Got taxi from Chiusi Terme train station to Monticchielo at the Taxi rank outside, for a very good price of €62. Sara, the owner, was extremely helpful & answered every text immediately & with good advice. It was a comfort knowing she was there to help with any issues if needed. Thank you.

    Everything deserves the highest rating... Beautiful, atmospherically furnished apartment with all the amenities you could want located in an equally beautiful village... and a very nice, kind host Francesco, who serves delicious breakfast and coffee every day... I hope that someday I will be able to return there... I recommend it to everyone with all my heart :)

    An unforgettable stay in a beautiful apartment with an amazing view! The location is unique, overlooking Monticchiello and Pienza. Mr. Mino was also very kind to provide us with everything we needed and the red wine he offered us was a also a great touch! A place to return!
