Breakfast was outstanding, room and bathroom super clean, staff at breakfast, dinner (in the bistro) and at the reception all super friendly and helpful. Castrum is also in a lovely location with great views and lots of sunshine.

Fantastic little hotel in the middle of wine yards. Beautiful rooms and nice people. Perfect in combination with their excellent restaurant a shot walk from the hotel. Can recommend the wine tour and tasting menu. Will come back

    If you're staying here to commute into Verona, don't.

    If you're staying here to commute into Verona, don't. The bus systems aren't very reliable and you can't stay too long in the city or else you miss the last bus that leaves early in the night. I had multiple experiences standing and waiting at bus stops in 95-degree heat for busses that were running late and it was miserable. San Pietro in Cariano is a beautiful little town but there isn't much there and not many people speak a language outside of Italian as it is not a tourist spot and such a small town. There are a few restaurants in town, but the language barrier is difficult and often I would just prefer to wait and eat down in Verona as it was easier. The commute by bus into town is about 30-40 minutes and there is no working AC on the bus so you are either standing or sitting in your own sweat for that entire time. I would have rather spent the money and stayed in the city, but the place I stayed in San Pietro in Cariano was lovely and I have no complaints about that, I just chose the wrong location.

    A family of four plus a dog, we spent a couple of days at Villa Giona. This is an exceptionally stylish hotel with a laid back flair and a great staff. The breakfast was excellent, the pool too - and the rooms really big and comfortable with an aircon and even a jacuzzi. If you get a chance to spend time at Villa Giona, I highly recommend it: it's worth every penny.

    Amazing experience: very comfortable hotel among wine yards. Helpful hosts. It’s brilliant idea with wine, tea and water - you can take any time you want all necessary on the shared big cosy kitchen. We offered tasting menu with 5 wines - our strong recommendation, it was like an art and fantastic delicious.

    We loved how friendly and helpful the host was. He was generous with his time and very patient. He went above and beyond by making phone calls and helping with bookings. The hotel is in a lovely peaceful location, great if you want to be close to Verona, Lake Garda and wineries without facing the crowds.
