I am speechless about how friendly the staff is! it's really rare to see such friendly staff. Special praise goes to the gentleman who greets the cars, and even more special to the waiter at the hotel bar. That waiter deserves a raise and everything he wants, because you must know that he is the only one so kind in the entire catering chain of Italy. take care of it :)

FAQs about hotels in Sirmione

Lake Views from Every Angle

On a narrow peninsula protruding into Lake Garda, Sirmione is a wonderful town famed for its multi-turreted castle, Roman remains and hot springs.

The 13th-century lakeside castle makes quite an impressive sight as you cross its drawbridge to enter the old town beyond. From its walls there are lovely views across red-roofed buildings towards the trees hiding the ruins of a huge villa that belonged to 1st century BC Roman poet Catullus. Part of the complex included baths benefitting from the thermal waters, and the town still has a spa today on the opposite side of the promontory.

Nearby is the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore with its 15th-century frescoes, and the surrounding narrow, cobbled streets are home to stone buildings and several Sirmione hotels on Lake Garda. The majority of hotels are mid-range, but there are still a few 4 and 5-star hotels in Sirmione to choose from.

Booking.com also has lots of accommodation by the lake in the newer part of town, and its Lugana Vecchia area has a UNESCO World Heritage-listed prehistoric site.

To the west of Sirmione is the lakefront town of Desenzano del Garda, while to the east is Peschiera del Garda, close to the Gardaland and Canevaworld theme parks. The nearest airport is Verona Catullo Airport to the south-east.

Really loved Sirmione, was only there for 2 days and decided to concentrate solely on that area. I would definitely like to go back to Lake Garda to explore more. Limone and Malcesine have been recommended I wish we had had enough time to explore these areas. I regret not having more time to explore other areas of Lake Garda, I under estimated the lake's size and the time it takes to travel by ferry across. So will plan better next time so that I can go from one area to another and experience them all. Really love Italy, the food, the people, it easy to get around, the vino! :-)

Interesting and lovely city; these days castle and lake are the main tourist attractions but the Grotte di Catullo was an unexpected delight. Even the name is an understatement : "gotte" implies caves but this is a magnificent villa and one of the major archeological sites in northern Italy.

Wonderful city, full of beauty, charm, history, great beaches and restaurants. Quite busy with travelers but not extremely busy I would say. Closely located to other towns which are worth visiting with just a short 15-min drive. Great clean beaches with warm water, child friendly. Lots of beautiful nature.

Sirmione inside the castle walls was extremely crowded in August. The food in general was not good and very pricey. I would stay outside the castle walls and go there for a visit. On the other hand the thermal pool at Sirmione Terme and Spa services and the fact that the hotel is next to the boat dock made it very convenient and pleasurable.

Absolutely stunning town centre with the beautiful castle...

Absolutely stunning town centre with the beautiful castle and quaint buildings sprawling with bougainvillea....lots of restaurants and gelato places to choose from. That being said, there doesn't seem to be much else there and once you've looked around the castle and had something to eat/drink and had a wander, it's enough. We spent 2 days there and that was more than plenty. If you combine it with Lake Garda and do a day trip there (or maybe overnight), it would be enough and plenty of people were doing just that and catching the ferry over for the day. Definitely worth a visit.

Sirmione was a fantastic base for our holiday

Sirmione was a fantastic base for our holiday Where we stayed, near the castle has a great selection of restaurant and bars, and not overly expensive considering the location We had dinner at many of the local restaurants, including Barracuda and Scalingeri Street Food We visited Jamaica beach, which was a great day out! Lovely access to the lake, a nice little bar and access to some food It’s is very busy throughout the day however we used the ferry to travel to other places at times, and the options for travel was vast. We also used the bus service, which was reliable, easy to use and cheap Sirmione was a fantastic base for our holiday and we will definitely return

Modest but comfortable Hotel with a pool and clean and reasonably equipped bright rooms. Breakfast was good. We only stayed a night and the weather was cooler than you'd normally expect for mid September in Italy so we didn't use the pool area. Location is on the "mainland" but was it was easy enough to get to the peninsula by bus in the evening when we ate at a lakeside restaurant and by car the next day to the Old Town when we walked around it and the peninsular before heading off to Verona. Parking was easy.

The staff were excellent during our stay from the receptionist upon arrival, cleaner who was friendly and the waiter staff in particular Gaia. The room was a nice size for our little family, clean and the TV had sky channels in English which was ideal for the little ones. The hotel is located a 2 min walk from the bus into Sirmione which is the quickest way to get to the old town. The terrace serves some lovely food and the pool area is clean and great for kids and adults alike with plenty of sunbeds.

This hotel is a real bucket list experience. If you wanted a no expense spared wedding then this is the venue for you. Every aspect of the building is beautiful, and the grounds are fabulous. It's a stroll into Sirmione and also to the Roman ruins. The staff are so friendly and helpful, they make you feel relaxed and special at the same time. The room was lovely with a small terrace and a view across the southern part of Lake Garda.
