Anan itself isn't a sightseeing spectacle - a quiet little...
Anan itself isn't a sightseeing spectacle - a quiet little town with all the normal amenities and such. However, its proximity to multiple important temples on the Shikoku 88 can't be overstated. You're near Temple 18-23, accessible through some combination of bus, train and walking, and that's super convenient. Even if you're not doing the whole pilgrimage, visiting Tairyuji on top of the mountain is super interesting, Yakuoji is beautiful and in one of many small seaside towns, and the whole experience can be a wonderful 3-4 day trip full of unique sights!Guest review byJ-MCanada
