    A lovely city with plenty of art, history, and delicious food. Oysters, lemons, okonomiyaki, etc. Miyajima Island was a delight and Hiroshima Castle was fascinating to see. On a more somber note, visiting the Atomic Bomb Memorial and the Peace Museum might be a little emotionally overwhelming for some people, but it was a valuable experience. Make sure to have plenty of time to go through the park and the museum. The local restaurants and izakayas were welcoming and chatting with locals was a lot of fun. I would have liked to visit more cafes in Hiroshima, but didn't have enough time. Overall, it was a short but good trip and I'd like to visit the city again sometime.

    we spent 2 nights - Day 1 did Hiroshima - Museum, Atomic...

    we spent 2 nights - Day 1 did Hiroshima - Museum, Atomic Bomb Dome - Peace park etc... (4 - 5 hrs will do the lot) Day 2 we had a private guided tour of Itsukushima Shrine and Miyajima Island / Mt Misen and ate okonomyaki (Traditional hiroshima style)

    We joined a free city tour in order to learn and appreciate more the monuments around the park we visited the memorial museum, the zero point and the art museum with were very interesting. From there we visited the island itsukushima with the famous temple

    What's to say?

    What's to say? Hiroshima is a shocking reminder of what we are capable of doing to each other. Let's hope we don't forget its lessons. Drawings of the bombing by the survivors , on display in the Peace Memorial Museum, were especially moving.

    The staff in the front office were very helpful and full of smiles to greet exhausted guests considering its our first time in Japan. Hiroshima , was the saddest place I visited but thanks GOD I did come to feel and witness where the horrible bombing ,which I only hear and read in books.I cried and nightmares of the photos in the museum. I wish to be back and stay longer.

    Want experience a mid size Japanese city?

    Want experience a mid size Japanese city? See more of typical Japanese life, or step outside of Hiroshima city and enjoy rural areas? Then Hiroshima is a good choice. It offers more than just an atomic bomb museum, eat Okonomi-yaki, and see a red Torii gate standing in the sea. Vastly different to national heritage of Kyoto and buzzing metropole of Tokyo.     We arrived early in Hiroshima, but they stored our luggage easily for us so we could go out and explore. Check-in was easy after, and the stay itself was as expected of a capsule hotel. But very organized. Everyone was very quiet, also. The bathroom was not crowded, and you had a lot of privacy. The reception was lovely and they gave a lot of good tips on our way out. They seemed to love foreign tourists and showed they could speak some sentences in various languages. Great stay!

    This Hotel directly above the Hiroshima station was luxurious, quiet and extraordinary. The service orientation was worldclass, the rooms outstanding and the price still affordable. The strategic location made it possible to come from Kyoto in the morning, leave the luggage there, see Miyajima and Hiroshima in one day, stay there overnight and use the first Shinkansen up north in the next morning. And indulge in affordable luxury in between.

    We chose the hotel as it is located at the JR Shinkansen train station. Very convenient to catch other trains to the Peace Memorial Park and Miyajimacho Island ferry. Room comfortable although didn't spend long there as we arrived after touring Hiroshima and left in the morning.
