Absolutely beautiful and a fantastic opportunity to stay in a traditional house. We loved it. It was very clean and well maintained. The small town is very peaceful and we had a wonderful meal at a small restaurant 4 mins walk from the house.

We really enjoyed our stay. The Ryokan is located close to the train station and was easy to find with Google maps. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed the large breakfast provided. The room was warm and comfortable, and the house itself was beautiful. I would definitely recommend this Ryokan! Thank you!

My family and I stayed here for three days. Everything here was unforgettable—quiet, clean, and fresh air. The hotel manager was enthusiastic and professional. It felt like living in a familiar home. The owner told us that this restaurant and hotel is family-run, starting from the Taisho era, with a history of more than 100 years. Every day, we enjoyed a delicious home-cooked Japanese breakfast. There is also a family-inherited kaiseki cuisine that is a must-try. Our whole family experienced the real Japanese culture and life here. My wife and daughter especially enjoyed the Japanese clothing experience specially prepared by the host for us. True to pictures, our stay at Shigura Wood Villa for a group of 4 adults and an infant was unparalleled! Naoto-san received us upon arrival to walk us through the facilities/ house rules and, was extremely prompt with his responses and assistance via the booking platform's chat function (prior to and during the trip). The villa was also spotless and contained professional kitchen equipment which motivated us to home-cook our meals! Even rain couldn't dampen our moods as the villa's interior was so lovely. We're truly grateful for the kind hospitality as first international guests of the villa and look forward to visiting again!
