Because a typhoon wiped out some train tracks, this place is hard to get to. But WOW. Eat like royalty, soak in a hot spring, take a glorious hike, and repeat. Phenomenal.

We absolutely loved everything about B&B Itadaki! Suzuki and his wife were amazing hosts. A classical old-style japanese house that I had all for myself, humble living but matching the descripotion and has a good vibe. Very friendly and helpful host that welcomed me, recommended activities for my free day, arranged a visit to a neighboring tea farm for me, and even very helpfully drove me to the train station when I was leaving. Might be less comfy in winter for someone but the heating was fine for me. Would stay again anytime!

Dinner and breakfast were delicious and of good portion. We were very satisfied with the food, the experience of being welcomed by a very kind and friendly Japanese family, traditional way of sleeping on futons inside a mosquito net, and the joy of visiting their tea farm and factory. The owner helped prepare for hot bath with mineral onsen power which was super relaxing. They took the time to explain about tea harvesting, brewing and products. The cats were super sweet and polite. We met the owner's grand children the following morning and they are so cute too. The personal and family element made our stay here special and ended up making it stand out from all the other nights in modern hotels during our trip in Japan.
