Truly a fantastic place to stay. The house is beautiful and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The host, Christophe, was very kind and accommodating to any requests we had and check-in was flexible. We had a wonderful time at Carpe Diem and wished we could have stayed longer. Great location for exploring Niyodo River. The owners have done an excellent job of refurbishing and decorating the building. The lovely aroma of spiced wood permeated the house from the heated bath. The futons were soft and warm. Loved our stay.

I picked this place last minute on a motorcycle tour of Shikoku. The family that runs this place is wonderful. They're very friendly and helpful and know the area well. The room and bed were comfortable, the Family Mart next door was convenient, and the breakfast provided was oishii!

Convenient place to reach temple 45 on Ohenro. The room are confortable. The staff was great, nice and very helpful. They also speak good English. Food is a Japanese style, traditionnal, really good and the onsen is relaxing. They also keep my backpack while I went to the temple.

Takao and Shie’s guesthouse is perfectly equipped for a self-catering stay in a remote rural area about an hour from Kochi city. They are wonderful friendly hosts and the accommodation is lovely. The toilets and bathroom are outside but are very clean and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for anyone wanting to disconnect from the city vibe and just relax for a few days. Thank you Takao and Shie and good luck for October :-)

To stay with the young couple host was great, picked us up from the train station and dropped us off at the bus station each day to do our excursions. Surrounded by farm land & greenery! Are dinner together and chatted in the evenings. Noah the dog is very cute too 😁
