Even though the place is quite remote, it is spacious, clean, and equipped with almost everything we need. The owner is well communicate and provide necessary details and strict rules for staying. We were there for 3 nights and very much enjoy our stay.

The staff was so nice and friendly, always available to help. The room was very big and we were able to have the onsen only for ourselves. I totally recommend this place.

We liked the crab buffet and drinks. The hotel is large and many accessories. Though we can't see Aso mountaun this time due to Typhoon, the view from restaurant and room would be beautiful.

The public bath hours and access to next door public baths too. The hospitable staff and large lobby. Appreciate the vouchers to the public bath next to the hotel while we waited for official check in to the rooms. Aldo appreciate the vouchers offered after we checked out to have one last public bath soak before our next train took off. We also appreciated the delicious dinner and breakfast. The best buffet spreads in our trip.

This is a beautiful traditional (restored) Japanese house. Exceptionally spacious and comfortable for two people. The balcony at first floor and patio area with sun loungers to the rear were nice for relaxing at breakfast time and in the afternoon sun after a day out to Mount Aso. The highlight however was the optional barbecue evening meal in the impressive annexe. The host couple were incredibly kind and helpful and the meal was out of this world. The annexe building also has some impressive TV/audio facilities. It was a very memorable stay and we would thoroughly recommend staying here.
