Loved this place. New build so everything very modern. Comfortable room. Great bathroom. Very helpful staff member who cleans the rooms and speaks good English. Self checkin clearly explained so not an issue. Wifi was good contrary to some reviews. About a 15 minute walk from the village. 10 minutes to convenience store. Excellent restaurant nearby open until 9pm with lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Tenkara Shirakawa. Good parking. Book it!

Accomodation was nice and clean. Host was super nice. There was powerful hearing on the room so it was warm. Common space was very cozy. There was a possibility of buying some good and drinks for wery cheap if you had a tooth. Great value for price.

Eveything! The instructions in the check were so clear! Our room perfect! The kitchen has full equipment and free food. A Besides that in the kitchen they have differents book made by hand with information about the place, very didactic, full of color and photos! Love it !

Really lovely hosts - very helpful & friendly. Very peaceful area. The lounge & kitchen facilities were nice & much appreciated, especially as a convenience store is close. Room was clean & comfortable. An easy 20minute walk into the old town/bus terminal. The bus to/from the east (Takayama) is a 30second walk away. Good value compared to other places in the town.

It was just amazing I came there and it was a bit of an unplanned trip. The host was so caring and helpful The food at the restaurant was great Even drove me to the onsen for me to just enjoy my stay I will come again!!! My stay there made my stay 100 % better making me wish to come back again.

AMAZING!!! at the time of our booking, this super special ryokan was rated an unbelievable 10.0, so we arrived with VERY high expectations ... which were, in fact, surpassed. the setting is very rural & beautiful -- certainly best to arrive by car -- & the antique house is authentic, aesthetic, well preserved & truly something to admire. best of all, the family is VERY warm & hospitable ... making u feel right at home & a part of their everyday lives -- creating a truly unique & memorable encounter. eating around the hearth was delicious & enchanting ... & its central position w/in the house adds a mild smoky scent to the place, which i found pleasantly enjoyable. certainly not inexpensive, but highly recommended ... as that once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience not to be missed! ps-> u're apt to taste a dairy delight or 2 from their goats ... try to go -- by car -- to the nearby place where they milk them

Staying with Kota and his family was absolutely wonderful! It was the most beautiful Japanese experience during my first week in Japan. The food was very tasty each and every time. The room was so quiet and warm, we slept very well. The view on the mountains was breathtaking. I loved the onsen experience. In the first day we saw the Gasho house museum just across the road from the hotel, and on the second day took the bus, which stops just outside the hotel, to Shirakawa-go. It was perfect experience.
