Everything was absolutely fantastic. The hosts are the kindest people. The food is made with such care. The produce is as fresh as it gets - it (literally) jumps off your plate. If you want to meet a different side of Japan, away from tourism and big cities, you’ll love it here.

The fact that it was near the beach and have a beautiful view from the room. The morning breakfast buffet was delicious wish we had booked the dinner early as well. Thank you for the wonderful stay hoping to come back again!

I had a wonderful stay at this hostel! The staff were incredibly kind and helpful with anything I needed. The kitchen was well-equipped, the rooms were clean, and the beds were super comfortable. The showers were also very clean and pleasant to use. The area around the hostel has an organic supermarket and several places to buy food, which was really convenient. Tahara itself is a calm and peaceful town – perfect for anyone looking to relax and enjoy a quiet atmosphere. Highly recommended!

    Tahara is a very calm and quiet town.

    Tahara is a very calm and quiet town. I found myself just relaxing there and not doing much, which was exactly what I needed. There’s a cute little café down the street from the hostel and a supermarket nearby, which makes it easy to cook your own meals.

    As Americans, we were out of our comfort zone in this region...

    As Americans, we were out of our comfort zone in this region. People were very friendly, but we don’t speak Japanese, so interactions were difficult. Wanted to embrace nature, but local scenery was average. But to be fair, the dreary weather could have influenced our experience.

    The view is the outstanding attraction to this hotel, but watch out. Saying Ocean view is deceptive. Most rooms have an ocean view but there are two sides with a difference of day and night, Front view facing the inland sea is outstanding. Back view is view of an empty beach, not noteworthy. Make sure you get a room facing the inland sea. View is outstanding. Outside hot spring faces the inland sea and is again outstanding. Room was clean but small. The bathroom was similar to ones you would find in a business hotel. Bath located close to toilet. Staff was polite and friendly.
