True to pictures, our stay at Shigura Wood Villa for a group of 4 adults and an infant was unparalleled! Naoto-san received us upon arrival to walk us through the facilities/ house rules and, was extremely prompt with his responses and assistance via the booking platform's chat function (prior to and during the trip). The villa was also spotless and contained professional kitchen equipment which motivated us to home-cook our meals! Even rain couldn't dampen our moods as the villa's interior was so lovely. Absolutely beautiful and a fantastic opportunity to stay in a traditional house. We loved it. It was very clean and well maintained. The small town is very peaceful and we had a wonderful meal at a small restaurant 4 mins walk from the house.

Dinner and breakfast were both superb. The location, bang in the town centre and near the footpath up to the castle ruins, was perfect. It is so nice to find a historic building restored and used in this way! It was a real treat to stay there.

The hostess lady is from Taiwan and speaks Japanese and Mandarin, so that was very helpful for us. She was also very helpful providing information on the castle ruin and local attractions and restaurants. When we asked her if there was any place we could rent bikes to ride along the river, she offered her own bikes to us. We really loved staying here in Takeda. It's quiet, peaceful and beautiful. Everything we wanted in a small Japanese town experience.
