The staff was absolutely amazing. Very kind, helpful and hospitable. The room was spacious, clean, had amazing view and one of the best showers I’ve ever taken. The food was delightful, and the infinity pool with a bar was a cherry on top. I absolutely recommend choosing this hotel!

Taprobane was the most amazing hotel we stayed in during our trip in Sri Lanka. Staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. They were so smiley and welcoming and also looked after us so well! The hotel is new and extremely clean. The rooms are huge. The bed is lovely. The whole place is genuinely well made and maintained. Absolute gem of a hotel. We ordered room service the last night of our stay and the butter prawns were tremendous. We were pleasantly surprised to see the food being so on point too! If you are staying in Colombo this hotel is THE place to get some rest from the city bustle. Well done to everyone working there and special thanks to Deeptha for his support and efforts!

As a female solo traveler, my experience at Zylan Boutique Hotel in Colombo was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with the warmest hospitality, making me feel instantly welcome and safe in a foreign city. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary upgrade to a suite, which was both spacious and immaculately clean. The room boasted great water pressure in the shower, and the bathroom amenities – including a dental kit and shower gel – were thoughtfully provided, which I greatly appreciated as I was traveling with hand luggage only. Breakfast at Zylan was a delight. The à la carte menu offered a variety of classic options, allowing me to choose from freshly prepared eggs, chicken sausage, or pork bacon, accompanied by crispy hash browns, a delightful fruit platter, and an assortment of breads with jams, oats, and cereals. There was certainly something for every palate, and the quality exceeded my expectations. The attentive service at Zylan Boutique Hotel truly stood out. The staff was not only friendly but also highly professional, providing stellar service that is worthy of a five-star rating. Their commitment to guest satisfaction was evident throughout my stay. The hotel is situated in a calm area away from the hustle and bustle, which allowed me to enjoy some peaceful moments after a day of exploring Sri Lanka's vibrant culture. I wholeheartedly recommend Zylan Boutique Hotel to anyone visiting Colombo, particularly for solo travelers. I enjoyed my time so much that I would come back immediately! The staff at La Maison really went above and beyond. From greeted arrivals with welcome drinks to attentive and friendly staff at the restaurant. Chamara in particular was an excellent concierge. He booked appointments for me at the local spa (Noelines is great!) organised transfers and provided helpful recommendations. The hotel is a green oasis in busy Colombo. I enjoyed lounging by the pool and slept in the most comfortable bed. The location was safe so I felt comfortable walking to other cafes, restaurants and ATMs on my own. The owner Christophe is very passionate about his hotel and will happily answer questions or give you a tour. There are seven rooms at La Maison each with their own French theme. Finally I’d recommend the cheese platter which is actually made up of French imported French cheeses!

    Basically this is like apartment. such like include Bedroom, Hall, Small Balcony, Bathrom and Kitchen. Close to Colombo City and the attraction places soround colombo, Wellawatte, Dehiwala zoo, Lotus Tour, One Galle Face, Galle Face Beach, Majestic City, Local restaurants including vegeterian takeaway places, ect.. Easy to public transportation to anywhere around sri lanka ( Most of the places ).

    Great city! There's access to everything.

    Great city! There's access to everything. Whatever you need, you can find it in Colombo. If you can't find it here, you probably won't find it anywhere else in Sri Lanka. Shopping can be expensive with name brands, but there are always similar quality alternatives for less.

    We really wanted to find reasons to recommend Colombo as a...

    We really wanted to find reasons to recommend Colombo as a stop over, but whilst we found some lovely areas, it really isn't a pretty town with a quaint area to wander around. In hindsight, we should have stayed in Negombo or just headed straight from the airport to our first proper destination.

    Plenty to see and do even outside the usual tuk tuk tour trail. Be creative and explore you will be amazed no matter what your budget is like. I really recommend Kensington road and the place around 5th lane. Also gall road can be safe fun and entertaining to have a bit of localness with no glamour.

    Loved our stay in this beautiful house. TJ and his staff were fantastic and made stay here very comfortable. TJ was a mine of very interesting information on Colombo and the history of this house. We were fortunate enough to stay when the house was used for wedding photography which gave us an unique insight to Sri Lankan weddings. We were served Sri Lankan breakfasts by Dilshan who explained all the dishes to us and don’t forget to take a dip in the pool.

    Perfect overnight stay in Colombo. The Rooftop pool and bar is a worthwile and picturesque view. Do order the Sri Lankan Twist if you get the chance. The breakfast buffet also has plenty of choices and the best one we had in Sri Lanka. The room also offers a private viewing of the ocean and sunset.
