We spent two nights at the Bundala Flamingo Cottages. The location overlooking the Bundala wetlands was second to none. Waking up to see the sun rise and the myriad of birds, and buffalo was a highlight of our Sri Lankan holiday. The owner, Charmin, led us on a safari to the national park, as well as a couple of other tours around the area. He has a genuine passion for nature, knowing all the birds of the area. We were excited to see 16 elephants during our stay. Charmin and his family were great hosts and tried to make our stay special. Thank you!

The location was picturesque, staff was super friendly and attentive, the food was delicious, and the stay was really comfortable with all the comforts that you'd expect in any good hotel. What you see on the pictures, is exactly what you get. We had different Sri Lanka dishes for breakfast every day. It tasted amazing We booked a safari through them and they treated us with different things to our safari. This is a place who is really worth your money.

Staying at the House of Freedom was a little adventure. the room is small but nice, Isubu is a great host (if you stay here, ask him what there is to do, he knows so much about the area and "has a guy" for almost anything) If you want a luxury stay and accomodation, you are at the wrong place. If you are fine with open air shower, basic toilet and no AC, this is a place for you. There are all kinds of animals around the house, apparently Elefants visit too. Isubu gave us a Bird-watching-walking tour in the morning before our departure which is truely the cherry on top of it all.

The host was extremely nice and helpful. The room is big, with AC and a nice private bathroom with all necessary. The owner has been extremely helpful, he rented us scooters for a fair price and gave us nice insights of the area :) He also came with us to the bus station to help us take the correct bus! Great experience, absolutely recommended
