The hotel is situated on a hill overlooking 24 hectares of tea plantation, surrounded by luscious mountains. It is the perfect combination of peace and isolation amidst a breathtaking scenery. The hotel staff are very attentive to guests’ needs - be it booking car transfers or showing the best hike routes in the area. This place is a gem and we look forward to coming back.

We were a little late to reach our destination on that day But when we entered our accommodation, the first thing we observed was that it was so great. Everything was very neat, clean and beautiful. This is a really nice destination in a beautiful free location I firmly believe that the idea of coming back was in the minds of everyone in our group. I'm sure finding a destination like this in Bandarawela will benefit many more in the future. So thank you very much for your service with great hospitality as a in charge here..! We chose Meena Amma's Tea Experience because we wanted to have a closer and more genuine experience with locals, and because we wanted an accommodation close to the hiking trails of the Hortons Plains. Meena was such an amazing host. She took care of us in the best way possible. She walked with us to show us the surroundings, explained to us useful tips on Sri Lankan cuisine, and cooked for us the best and most authentic meals we had in Sri Lanka. Although, we thought that her cooking was amazing, it was a little bit salty for our taste buds. The room was nicely decorated and has the convenience of a nearly a 5* standard. Highly recommended accommodation in a strategic location close to Nuwara Eliya and Horton Plains. Just beware of the entrance road to the village is not asphalted!

Clouds 1939 was an absolute delight. The location and views were magical , the perfect place to relax. The adorable dogs made our stay even more memorable. Meals were great, staff were lovely, and the rooms were spacious and cozy - especially the attic room, which was my favourite. Highly recommended!
