The place is 1 min walk from the famous Mount Lavinia beach with all the nice restaurants. It runs by a new team who are very attentive and willing to learn. Dasun and Yoshendra (the manager) made sure my stay is comfortable. The room has a new airco system and hot water. Bed was very comfortable and clean as well.

We are a family of 8 ranging from 4yrs to 82yrs old, 6 of us visiting from the UK, 2 joining from South Africa. We booked 3 rooms (2 triples and a double) and all 3 were fabulous. The rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable and fresh. We had breakfast in the Tidal restaurant which had a good choice of foods and then a fabulous dinner outside by the pool bar. In between we took the complimentary city tour (coach tour offered by the hotel) which was excellent and a good way to see Colombo. The staff were attentive, helpful and friendly and we highly recommend this property

Taprobane was the most amazing hotel we stayed in during our trip in Sri Lanka. Staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. They were so smiley and welcoming and also looked after us so well! The hotel is new and extremely clean. The rooms are huge. The bed is lovely. The whole place is genuinely well made and maintained. Absolute gem of a hotel. We ordered room service the last night of our stay and the butter prawns were tremendous. We were pleasantly surprised to see the food being so on point too! If you are staying in Colombo this hotel is THE place to get some rest from the city bustle. Well done to everyone working there and special thanks to Deeptha for his support and efforts!

As a female solo traveler, my experience at Zylan Boutique Hotel in Colombo was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with the warmest hospitality, making me feel instantly welcome and safe in a foreign city. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary upgrade to a suite, which was both spacious and immaculately clean. The room boasted great water pressure in the shower, and the bathroom amenities – including a dental kit and shower gel – were thoughtfully provided, which I greatly appreciated as I was traveling with hand luggage only. Breakfast at Zylan was a delight. The à la carte menu offered a variety of classic options, allowing me to choose from freshly prepared eggs, chicken sausage, or pork bacon, accompanied by crispy hash browns, a delightful fruit platter, and an assortment of breads with jams, oats, and cereals. There was certainly something for every palate, and the quality exceeded my expectations. The attentive service at Zylan Boutique Hotel truly stood out. The staff was not only friendly but also highly professional, providing stellar service that is worthy of a five-star rating. Their commitment to guest satisfaction was evident throughout my stay. The hotel is situated in a calm area away from the hustle and bustle, which allowed me to enjoy some peaceful moments after a day of exploring Sri Lanka's vibrant culture. I wholeheartedly recommend Zylan Boutique Hotel to anyone visiting Colombo, particularly for solo travelers. I enjoyed my time so much that I would come back immediately! It’s a newly opened place. Nice pool and clean rooms. Staff were great. Especially Shafraz & the guy with glasses who was very helpful and always smiling and greeting. Overall good experience and good value for money. Close to the beach.

    Watumulla is really close to the Ocean, the beach is...

    Watumulla is really close to the Ocean, the beach is stunning, and the bars great. There is a dive School (October to May) just north and the Mount Lavinia does incredible buffet lunches. Nothing better than Sunday lunch tehre, and an afternoon in the sun by the pool. Its really fast into Colombo in a Tuk.
