We loved our stay! The hotel premises are 5 stars, the food quality was very good and the infinity pool was beautiful. Also, the 2 dogs in the property were very friendly and cute. Just wish the hotel would take better care of them =)

The hotel was absolutely stunning! It’s a new property, beautifully designed, with spacious and comfortable rooms. The beach, the pool, and all the facilities were amazing and very accessible. The food was delicious and varied, and every afternoon there’s a charming tea time with hot drinks and a generous selection of sweet and savory treats – such a lovely touch! The staff were exceptional – kind, attentive, and thoughtful. They responded to every request with a smile and always had a solution ready. Thank you for a perfect stay. We truly hope to return again soon!

We can highly recommend Villa Island if you are looking for a good villa in quiet surroundings. You really get great value for money. The welcome was exceptional. Employee was waiting in the house when we arrived. Windows and doors were open, so the temperature was pleasant and there were fresh flowers. some food had been bought there, water and other necessities were in the fridge for the first day. Ani had even prepared a welcome dinner and set the table for us. As our journey to Mauritius had taken many hours, we were very grateful to be able to start the holiday relaxing. The house is in reality as the pictures show. Everything in the house worked as it should. WiFi is very fast. There is a table and 2 chairs on the terrace. There were extra towels and pool/beach towels. Cleaning was done during our stay. The house is located in an area where both locals and rental properties live. It is very quiet and the area is safe. The two shared swimming pools are cleaned. A car is an advantage in relation to shopping and excursions. Melville Public Beach is very nice. if you drive a little further and continue on the dirt road, it ends at a fine sandy beach. It is very beautiful and quiet here. Much of the time we were the only ones on the beach. Communication has been very good since we booked the house. Anaxi is very good at English and gave us the information we needed.     We both enjoyed the stay.

    We both enjoyed the stay. The staff was polite, respectful. they couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable and pleasurable. Deepak Goolaria and his kitchen team prepared an eggless cake for me to celebrate my birthday. Sandeep and Vikram, Sucheeta and Jason were always working and talking to us how was our stay going.

    The location was excellent, with well-maintained facilities...

    The location was excellent, with well-maintained facilities and food was good.some staff were amazing .Aircon in our room was horrible and we called almost everyday complaining that it wasn't working.Beds were not very comfortable.It is very very expensive if you do not take an all inclusive option. we took an all inclusive option and still paid a lot in extra.

    Loved the Palm Court breakfasts and dinners the most as well as the spa and cafe LUX. Also loved the kayaking around the coves. Least loved were the hungry mosquitoes at the Smoke House restaurant but that was my fault as I did not spray repellant that night. If you don't have any with you, you will find stock at the LUX shop.

    Absolutely beautiful - couples can enjoy as well as families. Lots of activities. Calm and relaxing. Excellent choice of restaurants - Bodrun Blue is delicious and has a wonderful view. Inta is Peruvian fusion with excellent caliber products. The creole smoke house is excellent for sampling local food. We were not really impressed with the burger shack and the hailed crab burger was too fried and overpriced. Very kind staff. Spa also excellent. Delicious homemade ice cream stand also a plus. The whole resort was beautifully conceived and the location just gorgeous.

    Grand Gaube is rather quiet and not a fancy place.

    Grand Gaube is rather quiet and not a fancy place. Not too much bars or restaurants . To be honest, only one was open :). Suits perfectly to those who prefer to spend time and relax in villa, not in some noisy bar.

    The good : beautiful property.

    The good : beautiful property. The attention to detail with their architecture , interior design and landscaping is brilliant. Amazing food and service at Inti (Peruvian restaurant) , a must try. Pricy but worth it. Beautiful views from the rooms. Very comfortable rooms and stunning bathrooms. Nespresso machine in the rooms was a nice touch. The not so good : check in was chaotic. No one approached to ask if we were checking in. We had to look for someone. The whole process took too long and we weren’t even offered a welcome drink. The reception is painfully understaffed. Concierge took ages to bring our suitcases to the rooms. Breakfast was good but the service was not 5 star. Aimless waiters , lifting crockery without trays , tables without cutlery or salt & pepper grinders , coffee sometimes took ages to come. Hot items at the breakfast buffet were always cold. We wanted to use the bath tub but water was tepid at best - even in the shower the water was never hot. Mini bar wasn’t cooling properly. We asked for it to be checked but this wasn’t done. The beach around the hotel is artificial and the lagoon isn’t the prettiest in Mauritius. Palm court bar had very slow and haphazard service. Dirty tables and chairs. Some cocktails were watered down. The hotel should have better uniforms for the staff - they were dressed in what looked like hospital scrubs - some waiters wore trainers - it looked too casual for a 5 star resort. Lots of room for improvement.
