Raaz and his wife Lina are absolutely wonderful hosts :). Our 14-day stay at their studio exceeded our expectations. The bed is so big and so cozy so we have very comfortable sleep. Lina pick trash every dan, change towels and cleaned the studio.We highly recommend staying with them.

The appartement/studio is completely new and is situated in the north of La Gaulette. This is the perfect spot for a lot of advetures in the south of Mauritius. The appartement owner was available whenever we needed something. It was super clean, spacious, and we would definitely book again. The kitchen is fully equipped so its easy to cook yourself. Air conditioning is good.

I really enjoyed my time here. Aneeshia contacted me before the stay to check arrival time. She allowed me to check in before the official time. That was very kind. Besides she was very caring and helping. She helped me to book some activities, offered to do laundry, asking if I am good or need anything every day. She offered cleaning.. in total a very very friendly, caring host! The apartment looked exactly like the pictures show. The kitchen was good equipped. If you would like to stay in La Gaulette, this is a very nice place to stay. I was traveling alone and felt very safe here.

Our stay at this penthouse was truly outstanding! The apartment is spacious, well-designed, and very comfortable. The highlight is definitely the breathtaking views — with the sea on one side and the mountains on the other, it feels like waking up in a postcard. Everything was spotless and well taken care of, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The location is great if you have a car to take you to le morne and other attractions. There is no beach within walking from this location. The hosts are excellent and cleaning was offered every other day. Everything is very comfortable and taken care of. If you like the windows open at night, it’s loud! Dogs and roosters are making a racket all night. But they have excellent windows, so when closed, it’s fine. Beds are comfortable and sheets are good quality. The owners really care. The kitchen has everything you need and the grocery store is within walking distance. We highly recommend this place.

Very nice Hosts. They helped us at anytime. Hope we can come Back one day. The Location ist great. With the bus you can be at le Morne beach in 30min. The Chamarel waterfall and colored earth Park is very near too. Its about 1 1/2 hours to hike. The Dolphins tours in la preneuse are reachable in 30min with Bus. The Kitchen is very good equipt. The Supermarket to buy food is 10min walk away. But the prices in the Supermarket are very expensive

    It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius. Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common. Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.

    La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly.

    La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly. Le Morne (which is very close) is the only place nearby with a nice beach, but it is widely occupied by luxury hotels. another problem with La Gaulette is that it is not usable as a base for visiting Mauritius, becasue is far away from all main attractions except 7 color earth and Black River falls.

    An ideal place to visit La Morne and surrounding areas without the crowds. Nearby supermarket for groceries and restaurants. We had a car which made travelling around easier and i would reccommend getting one when coming to Mauritius as you see so much more

    Close to Le Morne and other attractions and places worth visiting, 90 min drive to Port Louis. Island is a paradise for botanical enthusiasts, hikers, climbers, fans of all sorts of water sports and beautiful reef fish, encounters with whales, dolphins etc.very friendly lovely locals and I felt very safe at all times, safer than in European many places. Please do book with local people, not all inclusive international resorts without local feel.

    The clear water at the beach was exelent.

    The clear water at the beach was exelent. The clearest seewater I have seen on the hole island! The surounding with the mountains are great. The beach is clean. No waist is liing around. Kite surfing ist also the place to be! Restaurant Chalets Chamarel has a great view. Hard to find. Food to expensive and not good!!

    not a typical tourist destination. However, great spot for trips and quiet place to chill before trips around the island - which is pretty easy to travel around. Great choice for families and backpackers like myself

    The most fantastic place in Mauritius - perfect for a couple. Communication was so-so easy with Alvin and the host. The place was wonderful: plenty of space, a gorgeous terrace, a comfy bed, a good shower, a well-equipped kitchen, smart tv, a parking space, a working air conditioner, a supermarket basically next door, quiet neighborhood, and views to die for. Simply superb. I am lost for words. I would 100% visit again. Le Morne beach was also beautiful, a car is helpful but some people were also hitchhiking.

    Warm welcome, excellent facilities, quality towels and linen, very clean, quiet neighbourhood, attractive decor, well equipped, splendid views, supermarket and restuarant within walking distance, short drive to beaches and main tourist attractions on Mauritius. Helpful advice and guidance from Host, all facilities demonstrated and in good order. Very good sized rooms and well laid out to enable a relaxing stay. Pleasant balcony with good views. Safe and quiet area, parking on quiet road directly ouside gate.

    Best thing was the sunset!!!! Baywatch is a great place to stay. Very spacious, comfy beds, has everything you need (aircon, fridge, oven, stove, barbecue, parking, free wifi). The host is super responsive on WhatsApp and email. The location is very accessible. We didn't hire a car, the village is 15 minutes walk and the bus stops right outside the house. We loved the bus, so cheap and easy. Thanks so much for an amazing stay, we loved Mauritius and hope to be back!
