This is a unique location in Mexico.
This is a unique location in Mexico. I definitely loved the intense animal life, the potential for peace, and the jungle. Unfortunately the lake seemed to be getting some kind of thick foam that would wash up on the beach and I saw no fish, which made me unhappy about the level of pollution. They also allowed motor boats, and although there were not many being used during my stay, it seemed like a clear path to destroying the natural habitat that people visit to experience. I definitely got the peaceful vibe that I wanted when I booked a stay in Bacalar, but my friend who stayed in a different hotel had to switch to another place because there was a wedding party happening under her room so enjoyment of a tranquil lake setting is not guaranteed if that is what you are seeking.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

The room is with the lagoon view was truly magical. Everything is set up with such good taste, from the decoration to the live music there was there one day after dinner. Could walk from the ADO bus station (1.5 km maybe). Just up the road from the lagoon. And close to the centre, for food, drink and nightlife.
