My friend and I recently enjoyed a wonderful two-night stay at this fantastic hotel perfectly located in the very heart of Taiping town with easy access to anywhere and a handy internal door in the lobby connected to the next door mall. The room was spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and exceeded international expectations, with a magnificent view of the lake gardens and surrounding hills. The rainforest shower was a powerful, satisfying and refreshing start to the day. All the staff were unfailingly friendly, attentive and courteous - our particular thanks to the front-desk lady upon checkout who kindly provided us with a ticket print-out for our ongoing journey. We were particularly impressed with the food: both the breakfast buffet and lunch/dinner menu were outstanding in quality and variety. It was a great pleasure to meet the manager in the restaurant on our last morning and pass on our justified and well-deserved compliments. We will certainly be returning to this Novotel in the future.

Staff are really nice and very helpful. Location is only 6-7 minutes walk to lake garden and maybe 10 minutes walk to taiping shopping mall . Also places to eat right outside the door . Also good wifi

My second time staying here. I stayed in the rooms nearest the reception area. Spacious, bright, clean... love its simplicity, no frills. Value for money. It's location near to hawker centres & near to Padang Esplanade (for those taking part in MMTF).

    Historical town with old buildings are well maintained.

    Historical town with old buildings are well maintained. Sri Annapurna, Anna and Semmoli restaurants served good food. Many Indian florists along Jalan Pasar. It is easy to get around by Grab and the fees are reasonable. Taiping Lake Gardens is a sight to behold with old big trees. One can enjoy the lake and a slow walk is relaxing.

    A nice small town for a family vacation.

    A nice small town for a family vacation. The Taman Tasik Taiping (Lake Gardens) and Taiping Zoo are both in the same area, and can be covered in a single trip. Lots of nice restaurants, cafes and food courts to enjoy the local food plus all places are within 10 - 15 minutes drive.

    Taiping brings back to our lovely childhood memories from...

    Taiping brings back to our lovely childhood memories from its buildings, ambience and its natures. We plan for a leisure trip and spent our time at Zoo Taiping, Telegraph Museum and Lake Taiping. We stayed at The Halt Tiny House near Simpang Halt, it was very lovely and giving 60-70s era and we had so much fun for the staycation. We surely will comeback to make more memories.

    Taiping is such a chill place .

    Taiping is such a chill place . No rush , No fuss , just chill vibe . Lots of Greeneries left and right . suitable for those who just want to relax & have a peace of mind. It's just it rains all the time ! so must have umbrella with you no matter its a long or short walk .

    View of clouds on top of Maxwell Hill were mesmerizing. Really want to come back and walk up that hill some day. Food was so so. maybe i went to the wrong places. Need to go back and walk around longer. Oh try Restaurant Soon Lee for seafood and other dishes.

    A beautiful and historical towns with lots of things to discover. The food here are nice and very cheap. The well maintained Lake Garden and the hiking trails of Bukit Larut. Most of all, come and experience the warmth and friendliness of the Taiping folks.
