We enjoyed our stay and we will come back to it. The staff are exceptionally helpful. The service is first class and the room was very clean. Breakfast was very good. The location of the hotel close to the train station and the city centre is another bonus.

We absolutely loved our room! It was brand new, spacious, and beautifully furnished. Everything was spotless and sparkling clean. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always attentive to our needs. The little treats at check-in and check-out were a lovely touch. Our 5-year-old son felt completely at ease. The hotel’s central location is perfect—everything is within walking distance, and there are plenty of shops nearby for any needs. We were thoroughly impressed and, without a doubt, will choose to stay at the same hotel again on our next visit.

Absolutely lovely hotel in 2 minutes walk from the railway station! Room was clean and cosy. The staff is very friendly and helpful, which makes atmosphere comfortable. We had an early arrival and asked for early registration, if it would be possible. We were given this opportunity, for which we are very grateful! The breakfast is also nice and delicious. I would definitely recommend to stay at Alex!

International, Yet Unique

One of the oldest cities in the Netherlands, picturesque Maastricht has an international feel. Not only can you walk to Belgium and cycle to Germany, this town also gave birth to the European Union and euro following the 1992 Maastricht Treaty.

Its largest square – Vrijthof – houses the twin churches of St Jan and St Servaas, a theatre and several pavement cafes. Various festivals and the Magic Maastricht Christmas markets are also held here. Markt square is home to the Flemish-style town hall, a twice-weekly market and yet more restaurants and bars offering great nightlife.

The excellent shopping options in Maastricht include unique shops on the cobbled Old Town streets, exclusive boutiques on Stokstraat, and the Entre Deux and Mosae Forum shopping centres. Dotted amongst these is Booking.com’s wide range of Maastricht accommodation.

Well-preserved city walls surround the Old Town and run close to the Maas River where boat trips are available. Underground are the Casemates, a visitable maze of defensive tunnels used in times of siege, while on the city’s outskirts are the St Pietersberg Caves, former World War II shelters with intriguing wall art.

Before flying out of Maastricht Aachen Airport, don’t miss the fine art by Rubens and Van Dyck in the Bonnefanten Museum, a modern building reflecting the area’s pottery heritage.

    Maastricht is the birthplace of the EU and the Euro, two items that highlighted the significant role that it played in the region. It has the feel of a university town and a historic old center. Great variety of food, really old interesting churches and of course, the famous, St. Servatius Church. Just outside the city, they have their vineyards which you can visit for a wine-tasting day tour. It's an hour drive by car from Cologne, Germany

    A very beautiful city with many interesting things to see...

    A very beautiful city with many interesting things to see and experience. The architecture is very interesting. The Museum aan het Vrijthof is excellent. Parking is problematic. The Maastricht Museum is shallow on historical content but in a very nice building. A visit to the Mijnmuseum in Heerlen is worth a half a day.

    Maastricht is special in that this city has been center to so many events through out history. It is also a very clean city with incredibly friendly people. It's location near the Maas River presented so many choices to enjoy the open air.

    Maastricht is an interesting city with quite some history. The municipality of maastricht provides a clear overview of the city's offerings, such as museums and guided tours. The maastricht museum is certainly worth it. Maastricht is 'gezellig' as they say in Dutch with lots of restaurants and stalls. They really seem to live a bit less fast than inhabitants of Randstad cities. City centre looks lovely and picturesque, a bit un-Dutch even (outskirts look like any other typical Dutch village). Great city to combine a bit of city exploring and to wind down. The Mexican restaurant JITOMATO was really nice.

    Maastricht is absolutely beautiful!

    Maastricht is absolutely beautiful! There is a lot to do and see and plenty of places to eat or have a drink. We had a fabulous lunch at Vanbuuren on the Onze Lieve Vrouweplein, where the service went extra mile and then some! We also had breakfast twice at Cafe Brasserie Capital, just off the market square.

    We can to see the amazing Andre Rieu. We stayed 3 nights. The property was exceptional. The concert exceeded my expectations and was such an amazing experience. The pubs and restaurants are fab. We made some lovely friends too. We went on a boat ride down the muse. Eat some beautiful pastries and shopped lots. People of Maastricht lovely and friendly xx can’t wait to go back

    The location is brilliant- a short walk from the railway station and a short walk to the old city centre - located in a very nice neighbourhood. The hotel was clean and comfortable with good facilities. The room (a superior room) was very spacious but the layout with the open bathroom between the sleeping area and the sitting area is very odd. The room doesn't function nearly as well as it could. We knew about the open bathroom which did not bother us but were surprised at how much it adversely affected functionality.

    The location was great, very close to the centre of Maastricht. The building itself is stunning, the room was beautiful with the stained glass window and spacious. Breakfast was delicious and the staff very friendly. As we were there to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday, the hotel gave us a small Limburgse vlaai which we thought was very nice.

    Located close to the city centre. We could find an underground parking spot within 100 meters. We wanted to see the historic monuments and also sample the local delicacies and we could do all of these by walk. The local Christmas market was open in the evenings and the proximity to the hotel was very convenient.
