Big comfortable room with huge comfortable bed. Good WiFi. Nice welcome and allowed us to check in very early. Big bathroom with good shower and two sinks. Breakfast included which was nice surprise as we didn't know that. Served in room in morning. Tea coffee available the whole stay.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovingly furnished holiday home. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome and completely at ease. The house is beautifully equipped – everything has been thoughtfully provided. The area is peaceful and rural, yet very well connected with the highway close by, making it easy to reach. Supermarkets and shops are just a few minutes away. During our stay, it rained quite a bit,typical Dutch weather 😊 but that didn’t bother us at all. We made ourselves cozy indoors, enjoying the lovely games available in the house and spending relaxing family evenings with our children. A big thank-you to the warm and caring host, we felt very well looked after and knew we could reach out at any time if needed. A place to feel at home and unwind,we would love to come back!

    We loved the area of Havixhorst.

    We loved the area of Havixhorst. There was a lovely forest around the hotel. Meppel is close by with nice restaurants. The area is perfect for cycling and for day trips to e.g. Giethoorn, Nationaal Park Wieden-Weerribben and Zwarte Dennen which is a great place for nature, hiking and cycling.

    The hotel is truly magnificent. Beautiful building, rooms and staff are beyond professional and accommodating. My wife and I have travelled over 80 countries and the Chateauhotel De Havixhorst is likely the best accommodation we have ever had the privilege of visiting. And the restaurant and dining was just as exceptional. Truly a place worth making a special trip for.

    It's an amazing hotel with fantastic helpful & warm staff--truly a a luxury experience. The room was fantastic, and the hotel was beautiful. The grounds were beautiful (though we didn't get to explore much due to a delayed arrival and rain), but a highlight was that we could enjoy the beautiful view while staying dry inside.

    The location and restaurant are excellent! And it’s not far from Giethoorn if you wish to visit it one day. You can also rent bikes directly at the hotel. The staff is super friendly and helpful.
