It was both offered a selection of a la cart dishes (w/o extra charge) and buffet. Very much enjoyed the hostility and friendliness of the staff. The room was spacious and the bed was fantastic. I did ask during first contact if a room with bathtub was available and they remembered and granted this wish. Overall very pleasant hotel and stay.

Decent breakfast, very friendly and professional stuff at the reception. A fantastic location with Brygge just in 5 mins away and Fisketorget just around the corner. There are public transport stops nearby, but I used only the tram to the airport. The bus and train station is 15 to 20 minutes by foot, Grieghallen is even less than that. The neighborhood is really nice.

FAQs about hotels in Bergen

Picture-Postcard Norway

Gateway to the western fjords, Bergen is a picture-perfect postcard of Norway at its best. Colourful, wooden houses in UNESCO World Heritage-listed Bryggen contrast wonderfully with the lush greenery of the surrounding Seven Mountains.

For fantastic views of Norway’s 2nd largest city, hop on the cable car to Ulriken Mountain. Alternatively, hike or take the funicular railway up to Fløyen Mountain. With beaches sheltered from the North Sea by islands, Bergen is Norway’s busiest port and a popular starting point for fjord cruises and deep sea fishing.

The fish market in the narrow streets of the historic centre is a popular attraction, while just north is 12th-century St Mary’s Church. Around 100 years younger is Bergenhus, one of Norway’s best-preserved forts. Further north is Gamle Bergen, a reconstructed wooden village offering insight into the past.

Cobbled Strandgaten street and Lagunen Storsenter shopping centre are just some shopping options, but items aren’t cheap. As you wander around the city look for work by Dolk, Norway’s best-known street artist. Other cultural offerings are the many museums and a good music scene ranging from classic to indie.

Booking.com’s range of Bergen accommodation extends out towards Bergen Airport in Flesland, the departure point for many workers on the offshore oil and gas rigs.

One of the nicest cities I've ever visit. Bryggen is an exceptional attraction, but the whole central area is nice, very charming and vibrant. Nice natural landscapes just above the city (Floyberg and other places). All the city is nice, clean and well organized in any way.

Take the funicular to Mt. Fløyen to enjoy the views and be sure to pet the goats. Bryggen was a little disappointing, as the primary historic museum building is undergoing a renovation and won't reopen until 2027. It's packed with tourist oriented shops.

Great buzzy town, good to walk around, especially if the weathers on your side, views from the top, either via funicular or cable car are stunning. Lots of restaurant choices. Nice park with lake in the middle a short walk from the harbour. We were there on a Sunday and there was a big bike meet and lots of classic cars parading around, interesting viewing from our position on the Brygge.

    We enjoyed Bergen a lot.

We enjoyed Bergen a lot. We had lunch at the Fishmarket 3 days in a row. Checked out Bryggen & did some shopping there as well. Mt. Floyen is great & hiking down is even better as we ended up passing thru some pretty houses. Enjoyed spending time at the Opera House. There were a couple of things we didn’t get to do but will save that for another time.

Interesting city. Lots to see historically.

Interesting city. Lots to see historically. The fort is a lot of fun with its fascinating staircases and position over the city harbour. The funicular is worth a ride but cafe does get super crowded and restaurant books out for lunch and staff are not at all responsive about adding an extra booking in even when the tables are still half taken.

Cheap as for Bergen but still rather pricey, like the whole Norway. My room was very small, half filled by the bed, with absolutely minimal furniture. But the outside kitchen was well equipped. WiFi working well. Bergen accessible by bus, but outside peak hours running once per hour, may require long wait especially when returning later during the day. Bus needs to be changed into tram at "Nestun terminal", no direct connection.

The room was a Superior Queen. The size of it was ok, and the bathroom (shower no bath) was quite big. I did appreciate that the windows could be opened, albeit not much but that seems to be the norm in Norway hotels. A plus was also that the bathroom did have a window, so no mold problem there. The breakfast buffet was quite good, but really busy and certain items ran out and weren't replenished (like soft boiled eggs).

Our choice of this hotel proved to be a wise one. The hotel locates in the center of the city and it is within walking distance to all attractions and destinations. It is the only hotel during our stay in Norway that offers kettle in the room. Furthermore, the 24-hour availability of hot + cold water and coffee at the reception area added a delightful touch of convenience to our stay.
