The Senja Fjordhotel is a tucked away in the extreme south of the island on the shores of a small fjord. Its very modern as only built 5-6 years ago so was very comfortable with high end fittings. The room was plenty big for both of us and had a nice dual aspect view over the fjord and small boat jetty. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Its a small boutique type hotel and the staff vere very friendly and professional and gave some good tips on local activities. Breakfats each morning was excellent as was the evening dinner. The beauty of the location is that the only thing to do is enjoy nature, we got in some swims and hike in the national park so really enjoyed our three days there

What a wonderful place! It sits in a small village literally at the end of the road, set between beautiful hills and facing another village across the fjord, which is the most pictureque setting imaginable. Very quiet and peaceful, but not lonely, which I appreciated a lot as I was travelling alone. I knew people would look out for me, and that I could call anytime I needed anything. The rooms are modern, new and well appointed, the bed was excellent, very big with a new, comfortable mattress and super cosy. The bathroom was modern with a floor level shower and nice floor heating - just the thing after a night out trying to catch the aurora. There's a shared kitchen with a nice place to sit and a coffee machine which became my best friend as I was out chasing northern lights every single night. 😂 The kitchen is super useful and has everything you could ever need. The owners, Kjersti and Lars, are wonderful and helpful, I felt right at home with them and I was sad to leave. But I'll be back! It doesn't get any better if you like scenery, northern lights, peace and quiet and comfort.

Unbelievable experience, cannot recommend Tranøya enough! Wenche was an amazing host, communication was effortless and she really looked after us during our stay. Food was also excellent. The location tucked away on the island really lets you switch off. Don't hesitate!

The cottage is just amazing! The view from the living room is breathtaking, the place quiet and perfect for relaxing. There is everything you might need in the cottage and the Interieur is cosy and warm. We were very lucky and saw northern lights every evening of our stay directly in front of the house or above. The place of the cottage is a good base to discover different parts of Senja because even the way to the different spots is beautiful. The hosts were very friendly and offered their help if it might be needed.
